Occupy Your Mind

There has been a lot of talk lately about the 99 percent-ers and the 1 percent-ers in our country. It is an us vs. them dialogue culminating in a mostly peaceful demonstration and takeover of public parks, government building areas and schools, colleges and universities. It is a movement that is bringing up valid concerns of equality and fairness; and questioning the current concepts of community and patriotism that seem to prevail in our uneven, regressive and loophole abundant tax code that tends to favor the "rich" (at least in their pocketbook). It brings up the issues of government support of corporations, public entitlements and the entitlement feelings of the public and the business world. It raises, once again, the notion of the leanings toward and the liens produced in the U.S. and the world that are quickly propelling us into a corporatocracy (versus democracy). And, most importantly, it poses the question of "who's the boss around here?".

There are feelings of powerlessness and a sense of loss at what We the People... has seemingly become to mean. Are we a society run by the people (IE: the individual person as a collective) or the persons (what has lately been defined as the corporate collective)? What seems to be left to those who feel disenfranchised (the people described as the 99 percent-ers) is the use of our most important right, according to the first amendment of the document this country was formed with and holds most sacred.  And that is being usurped by overzealous, fear driven politicians and police. Though I may applaud some of the tenets of this Occupy movement and those who have peacefully addressed the issues the government more often than not cannot or will not address, I must remind every member of this collective of their individual responsibilities to ThemSelves. Not to dissuade the discussion in the micro (the smaller, though mighty factual picture) but to add to it with the macro (the larger, Universal picture - what we in the New Thought Movement call the Truth).

In the macro (the Universal), the 99 percent rules over the 1 percent. It is a place where equality is not a matter bound by tax code or the lawmakers or the GDP or the whims of the stock marketeers and banksters. It is a matter of choice and decision - personal choice and decision. It is a place where outside situations hold no grasp we don't allow to take hold. It is a place, using the term as both a noun and  verb, that is controlled by no one and no thing but YourSelf. That place is your Mind.

In your Mind, you get to decide what affects you, effects you and how your perception of what is going on gets experienced in your life. In your Mind, you are the boss around here. Again, I don't say this to dissuade the discussion going on, but to add to it by releasing the victimhood mentality (a debilitating belief producing a lack-filled life, a "self-accepted hell on earth" [Raymond Charles Barker]) and embracing the Power that is in all of us. The Power of Decision.

What you place in your subconscious mind must appear as your experience. Your subconscious mind acts as a Law of Creation. You cannot think and feel negatively over a period of time and have positive situations maintained in your experience.
Raymond Charles Barker from The Power of Decision

I encourage you to Occupy your Mind daily and consistently with the words, thoughts, feelings and beliefs equal to your greatest good. You get to decide what those are. Lose the pepper spray of fear, lack, shame, guilt and blame - it does you no good. It just brings you a painful experience even whilst you are taking a peaceful stand to be your best. Furthermore, it goes against what is Divine in you. These are not rose-colored glasses I am persuading you to wear, but the true and correct vision of who you are - the source of your Heaven.

You are the right person, in the right place,to create a right world for yourself.
All the resources of the Infinite are already yours.

Listening to Your Inner Voice

The inner voice - sometimes called intuition, inner monologue, self-talk, guiding whispers and many others - is a way to commune with your God Self. From it can come your genius and creativity in dealing with any and all matters with which you may be confronted. Unfortunately it also a way to commune with your most judgmental/critical human self and those utterances which represent “you’re not good enough” or are fear-driven.

This voice may prod or protect, reveal or reflect, remind or reprimand, and simultaneously connect with both your Divine Self and that bloated nothingness that Emerson tells us to get out of our way.

Richard Carson in “Taming Your Gremlins” wrote these five pathways to listening to your inner voice:
  1. Check in with your heart
  2. Connect with your body
  3. Listen to your intuition
  4. Notice your self-sabotage
  5. Identify limiting beliefs.

Though I concur with all five, allow me to simplify this even more for you....

If what you hear is destructive, it is from your human ego, which includes such undesirable characters as:
the self-saboteur
Dr. Limiting Core Beliefs

the dreaded fear-based inner child

They do not serve you.
(the exception being that they may inform you of what you need to heal in your thinking patterns)

If what you hear is constructive,
it is of the Divine and will serve you well.
(you probably want to make them a habit)

Notice I did not write positive or negative, but constructive and destructive.

If you stay cognitive of those two simple distinctions, I know your inner voice will put you squarely on the path to your best life communing with your Best Self. As you actively, consciously, intentionally and mindfully speak the Truth in a Spiritual Mind Treatment, so too should you learn to do so with your inner voice (which when oft repeated can take on a similar power).

Take with a grain of salt, or not at all, that which is destructive and invalidating of your True Self and listen/learn from what is constructive and affirming. You will restore balance and joy, rediscover passion and harmony, and enliven enthusiasm and vibrancy in all the corners of your life.

Have you ever done a Google search of your name?

There is a theory that if you click back and forth from a Google search result to the site you wish to have higher in the Google ranking, you can increase the ranking of that site. The higher the ranking, the higher order that site sits on the Google search engine. The ranking of a site on Google is powered by an algorithm called The Page Rank, named after Google co-founder, Larry Page.

To paraphrase Wikipedia, The PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. Sounds simple, yes? Not so fast buster. Google also looks at more than the sheer volume of votes or links or clicks a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves important (have received many votes, links or clicks) weigh more heavily and help to make other pages important.

So it is not just the quantity, but the quality of that quantity that goes into the making of a highly ranked site on Google. Mr. Page defined his company as follows, "We stand alone in our focus on developing the perfect search engine that understands exactly what you mean and gives you back exactly what you want."

Sound Familiar?

As it is with a website on Google, so too is it with a thought and, ultimately or
more importantly, with a belief in the workings of the Universe.

We manifest experiences by impressing beliefs into a Universal Google
(alternately termed as God / The Thing Itself / Source / Spirit....
or Subjective Mind / The Law / The Law of Cause and Effect).

What thoughts and beliefs are you clicking, linking and voting for to the Universal Google? You do this by these beliefs being present in your mind? The clue to theses beliefs lies in your experiences.

Are you experiencing lack or abundance in your life, ease or disease, prosperity or disparity, depression or vitality, or a combination of them all? The thoughts and beliefs you are feeding the Universal Google come from your Mind by means of your self-talk, your perceptions, your acceptance of the news (good or bad), what you give credence to in compliments and with criticism, in your subconscious, core beliefs, focused prayers, attitudes and feelings - anything you give weight to in your thoughts and beliefs. If it is showing up as bad or negative experiences or simply not enough first class experiences, worry not because.....

What thought has done, thought can undo.
The mental patterns laid down in your subconscious
throughout the ages can be consciously removed.
This Thing Called You (Ernest Holmes)

In the New Thought Movement it is said that Principle (the Law, God, the Universal Intelligence...) holds no precedent. In other words:

Change your beliefs, change your life.

The Universe doesn't care what you did, thought or believed before today. It is listening to what you believe now, today, this instant and doing what needs to be done (the how) to manifest your desires into your experience  "Great," you may say, "but what can I do about my beliefs?"

To change the Google rankings of your mind:

You must raise the beliefs which serve your greatest good
lower or dismantle the ones that no longer serve you
or that you do not want

For the mathematical and SEO minded, I have come up with an algorithm of the workings of the Mind:

E =  CB x CUL [(R + U) D       ]

Experience equals Core Beliefs divided by Thought plus Feeling
multiplied by a Conscious Use of the Law
(one's Word using affirmative prayer or spiritual mind treatment)
which is Recognition of the Divine Power plus
a Unification with that Power times a Revelation and Declaration of desire
multiplied to the power of Gratitude
(acceptance of and thanksgiving for what has already been given)
plus the Release (with full and complete faith in R+U)
of one's Word into the Law of Cause and Effect

It is time to check in. I challenge you to go deep,  get in there and become aware of your thoughts and opinions, be brave and allow them to reveal themselves to you, decide your  requirements, stay mindful of your thoughts and beliefs and take decisive action on revising those thoughts and beliefs that no longer  work for you.

As long as you are thinking and feeling what you do not want,

your mind will continue to create your private self-accepted hell on earth.
The Power of Decision (Raymond Charles Barker)

Got some of those thoughts, feelings and beliefs the Barker wrote about? There are many tools we can borrow from SEO experts on the internet to optimize our internal Mental Search Engine and website. For example:

1 - Reset cookies and cache, delete history

Lousy thoughts show up sometimes - okay, so what - just don't let them stick around. Reset and delete, then replace them with the thoughts that aren't so lousy.
2 - Blog / write articles / press releases / reply / comment

Journal about what's going on. Do your Morning Pages, "Artist's Way" enthusiast.                  Putting it down on  paper may help you get a new perspective and reference to what
is happening with your feelings. For many people it is a tool to delve into the core of their        beliefs, see them without the heat on it and thus be able to deal with it more objectively.          Others use journaling as a purging. There is also a journaling technique called clustering
or Mind Mapping  that some find, according to writing coach, Catherine Franz, "is a
powerful graphic technique that harnesses words, images, numbers, logic,  rhythm, color
and spatial skills, Unlike linear notes, it allows your mind to work with expansion."
Google Tony Buzan for more information.  Meditation is another way to clear your mind
and see what thoughts flow in and out. It is also a way to let Source speak to you. I                have found that if the thought is destructive, it is flowing from the human ego (edging
God out), if the thought is creative, it is of the Divine or, to quote Rev. James Mellon,
     "Entertaining God Only". To that...listen.

3 - Use Keywords / tags – choose words wisely

As you become mindful of your self-talk, you can work on optimizing the words you use, implanting them in your conscious and subconscious mind by consistent and conscious use, over and over again, till they stick. The words, thoughts, feelings and thus beliefs you have are mental habits that can be broken, changed and healed. This is not about using positive thinking or walking around with mental blinders on, you are optimizing your thinking. In your affirmative prayer or treatment work, allow these new optimized and personalized words to flow through and become a part of your vocabulary. Your greatest power lies in your conscious focused prayer work with thoughts, feelings and words that work for you.

Words are molds into which
the creative substance of your consciousness flows.
Words without meaning,
while they may have some effect through constant repetition,
cannot have the same effect that words with meaning have.
Your words will have meaning in such degree
as you actually feel that they are
the activity of the Spirit within you.
This Thing Called You (Ernest Holmes)

So take a look at what you are putting into your search engine. Stay aware. Are they buzz words, old mantras, or affirmations that have turned dry or sour? Find fresh, meaningful, inspiring, heartfelt, precious, useful and Divinely inspired words that not only inspire you but empower and provoke you into mental and physical action.

Words are a lens to focus one's mind.
                                       Ayn Rand

Focus on the thoughts, focus on the words, focus on the feelings and focus on the beliefs that serve you. Your Power is within, work from there not from the outside results, effects or facts. There is a Power for Good in the Universe and you get to use it, start purposefully doing that now.  Remember:

The War is Over

I am here to declare that the war is over. It's time to end the fighting, the hardship, the hunger, the beatings, killings, disease, famine, theft, and anger.
Put down your signs, put down your weapons, put down your ammo, and forever put away your hate. They have done you no good. They have advanced you not one iota of peace, tranquility, or serenity. You just have an abundance of conflict and aggression. There is no use for it. No more money is in your pocket from it, your health is being compromised by it, and your relationships will, if they haven’t already, suffer because of it. So I repeat: I am here to declare that the war is over.

That war I am referring to is the war with yourself.

If man takes his images of thought

only from his previous experiences,

then he continues in the bondage which those

previous experiences create.

If we talk about discord,

we shall become more discordant.

The more the world arms for war,

the more certain it is that there will be war.

-Ernest Holmes “Science of Mind” (pg 110-3)

What wars have you been fighting? Family history, some supposed DNA-infused future illness, thoughts that you are not good enough or young enough or good-looking enough, not as talented as so-and-so, the must do’s, must be-s, must haves, the ‘never get the breaks’, somebody said you didn’t have the ability or education, etc, etc, etc and on and on and on.

And what or where have these wars gotten you? More Guilt? Shame? Lack? Illness? Various forms of dis-ease, disharmony, dysfunction? What? Which or all of the above?

Well, stop it. Stop it! You have the power. You have the Power. Right here and right now. It is in you, a part of you, divinely included in every fiber of your being for you to use. It is the Power of Decision.

Your job is to embody this power consistently and use it consciously for only your good, whatever that means to you. That Power is your Mind. That Power is your ability to choose your beliefs - the ones you hang onto and empower with your thoughts and emotions. Beliefs – thoughts infused with emotion - are energy. They are an energy that is palpable, capable, proven to be efficacious and a power to be reckoned with in changing what experiences in have in your life:

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force...

We must assume behind this force

the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind.

This Mind is the matrix of all matter.

-Max Planck German physicist, founder of the quantum theory

Stopping warring with yourself. Give yourself a break. Don’t you know who you are?

If one guy with a bullet could change the world

in the school depository in Dallas or a hotel in Los Angeles or Memphis;

how much more could one person with an idea,

the right idea, change the world.

Today, this day, the world will change forever,

not because of the clash of armies,

not in the currency of bomb blasts or body counts

but through the proper application of the only force that matters,

the only power that even God respects, the Truth.

- from “Jeremiah” by J. Michael Stracynski

You are that Truth. There is a power for Good in the Universe and you get to use it. You can use it because the Source of all gave it to you to use. It is your choice whether to use it constructively or destructively. So, which will you choose? Fear or Faith? Lack or Abundance? Vitality or disease? Disharmony or love? Let us remove the shame, the doubt, the fear, the hate, the blame or the disappointment and replace it with empowerment, awareness, faith, love and conscious/mindful living.

Easier said than done, you say? Easier said than believed - maybe. It may take some time (two seconds, two days or two months) to change your thinking but why not start now? What have you got to lose but less crap in your life? It begins with your word. Your thoughts, coupled with your feelings and their connection to that thought, equals your belief and thus the decisions you make based on those beliefs. After which, comes the experiences that are mirroring that belief.

Yep, your beliefs show up in your life. Take a gander at your life now. It gives a good inclination of how you’ve been thinking. You can remove the crappy thoughts and replace them with the beliefs that will bring more of the good and great into your life.

And know that you are not alone. You are backed by the One Power, the Divine Intelligence, the Thing Itself: God, Source, Love, Life, the Universe, Phil – whatever you want to call It. You are backed by the sweet Spirit that wants to give you the experiences of health, wealth, loving relationships and prosperity in all things. It wants to provide you with serenity, love and vitality. The only requirement from you is to believe that you do, too. And It doesn’t care how you believed yesterday, years ago or even a moment ago. What are you thinking now?

So, yes, go ahead and deal with the junk that has already shown up in your life, however it needs to be dealt with, but stop the needless and superfluous, the downright harmful, acts of shame, blame and guilt.

Stop the war. Decide the b.s. is out of your B.S. (belief system).

The time is now. The Universe is calling. Pick up and receive your Good. Don’t be a passive observer and get sucked into results from the Law of Averages or race consciousness (i.e. the news, what everybody else believes, etc.). Start creating your life how you want it to be. It all starts in your Mind.

Affirm daily, hourly, by the minute and every second, if need be, what it is you want to believe. Meditate on it, do a spiritual mind treatment or affirmative prayer about it, consistently and consciously live and breath ‘as if’ with it, self-hypnotize, concretize, realize, logically summarize, focus on and ultimately choose to decide what it is you want to believe is how you now indeed do believe. Then you will truly end the war and watch the rebuilding and prosperity show up in your life and thrive in peace.

“...the spark which a man may desecrate but never quite lose.”

Ernest Holmes wrote, "Every problem is primarily mental..."

I am not advocating we bring out the Paxil or Lithium...nor the therapist or analyst - though they all have their place. Today, I encourage you to use that Divine Spark that has already been embedded in you.

That spark which is:

1) Within...deeper than your DNA

2) Within…seeped in the ribosomes of every cell

3) Within…enveloping your every molecule

4) Within…supporting every atom floating around inside you

5) Within…enriching every electron and proton that makes you - You

You use it in the morning, you use it in the night;
You use it whether you know it or not,
Ever heard of it or not.
Or conscious of its might.

You may use it to desecrate
or consecrate your life.
But you shall never, ever, no matter the date,
lose it or be out of its sight.

It is that mental power that is present in each and every one of us -
every day, every time and everywhere. It is:

The Power of Belief

Inspiring such phrases as: "thoughts become things" or "what you can conceive and believe you can achieve", it informs the …

Law of Cause and Effect
v. an impersonal Universal Spiritual Law
that takes the culmination of your thoughts,
what you believe about a given situation or condition,
and manifests, into your experience,
that which mirrors or equals the quality of that belief.

… what flavor of experiences to bring into your life.

Get It?

So what should I do with this Power?

Dr. Holmes finished the sentence that began this article, “Every problem is primarily mental...” with the following:

“...and the answer to all problems will be found in Spiritual Realizations.” These Spiritual Realizations lay awaiting in your Mind in the exact place where that Power resides.

So how do I get to those Spiritual Realizations?

1) remove your bloated nothingness out of the way [thank you Emerson]
2) take the bs [yes, that bs] out of your BS [Belief System] and
3) use that Divine Spark…
consciously, consistently, specifically and with immediate clarity

…to change your thinking and believing into the most constructive, life-affirming and prosperous ways you possibly can.

But what if I need assistance or I can't quite get one of those elements above quite right?

Then get ye to a Licensed Practitioner. He or she is trained to focus in on the bs in your BS and know the Truth about it. They are:

Consciousness on Demand

And please remember:

They are not there to counsel you or perform miracles or feats of magic
- though that may seem to happen.
They are only there to know the Truth about you.

And with your receptivity to their clarity, the healing occurs.

The practitioner of Mental Science (which means you, too) will facilitate the transforming of the dis-eases of the pocketbook, body, workplace, relationships and spirit into the eases of health, wealth, career and other words:

the joys in our lives.

Unlike other forms of treatment, you will notice there is no need for extraneous effort. You need not compel, will, or strong-arm the Universe. This treatment uses no pills, usually no couches, and very little Kleenex. Just calmly, expectantly, and fearlessly know, with a conscious recognition and deep inner conviction, that whatever it is that you need to know, you know and believe is so.

There is no lying, pretending, or faking, only:

1) knowledge, belief, faith in your Divine Power - your God-given resource

2) feeling the embodiment of your requirements - what it is you desire

3) complete connection with the One Mind (i.e. God, Spirit, Love, Light, the Universe, Brahma, Buddha, Jesus, Mother, Father, It, Krishna, Allah, Fred ...)

As it is said:

Change your thoughts, change your life.

If you don't see results as soon as you like, keep working on it....

Use affirmative prayer

Live 'as is'

Talk things through with a minister, counselor or a therapist

Go to the Licensed Practitioner again and get clarity on other beliefs

Belief changing can happen in a moment, day, week or more…
...or less

(that's the Truth, whether you feel it or not)

(powerful as they may seem)

Thus treating the Mind to a new set of thoughts, feelings and beliefs will counteract the power of any previous thoughts and beliefs that brought the crappy/yucky stuff, the stuff that does not serve your greatest good, into your life...

And in doing so...

…you will logically convince yourself of the Truth:

as being the only Presence in your life...

...turning that into a belief which that Law (of Cause and Effect, remember?) will then generate into experiences equal to your greatest GOOD.

Life is a mirror
and will reflect back into the thinker
what he thinks into it.
Ernest Holmes

I encourage you to embody those thoughts that serve your greatest good with feeling! The Universe will correspond with experiences equal to that belief.

This is not just spiritual talk, positive thinking, religion, or some rose-colored- glasses philosophy; it is science, quantum physics - proven anecdotally, experientially and in the laboratories of our greatest physicists. (see The Divine Matrix by Gregg Braden or The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton Ph.D.)

Katy Perry - Firework

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind
Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road

Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe-awe-awe"

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what your worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe-awe-awe

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
