We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.
~Pierre Teilhard de ChardinLet's ask ourselves this week - how are we at having our human experience? Are we in a swamp, soaked in the muck and gunk, or are we basking under a refreshing, clean, cool mountain waterfall? Are we dwelling on our human experience, the facts and the negative stuff they sometimes bring or the spiritual Truth, which is always positive and filled with unconditional Love – the Self-givingness of Spirit? All God's children got stuff! But what is our ability to accept and step out of that stuff? Let's explore three spiritual laws that will guide us out of the swamp and soaking under the waterfall.
Law of Love and Compassion. Accepting our human experience and those of others, not with reminders of our/their part in creating the conflict/condition, but with LOVE, compassion, kindness, and caring. When we do, we open up the space in our heart, mind and gut to not be stuck in that experience, knowing that it shall pass and we have the power to create our tomorrows. Lesson here: Give yourself a break!
What you resist, persists. ~Carl Jung
Law of Non-Resistance. What are you focusing on every day? Not the lists or goals, but the attitudes and perspectives? Do you see life for you or against you; perceive life as a struggle or a challenge? What is natural for you - a woe is me life or WOW is me life? We have the tendency to think about what we don't want versus what we do want, pushing against what we do want with hate, protest, argument, resentment, complaining, struggling, etc. While being in this resistance, we are effectively saying and vibrating to the Universe, “I DON'T WANT THIS!!” Sounds logical though, huh? Wrong ... then the all-obliging Universe responds by saying, “Great, of course you can have more of that NOT WANTING THIS” experience.
Law of Acceptance. When we accept the 'what is' (positive or negative), we create the possibility of moving forward by moving through or around it. The only real enemy is inside us: fear, self-doubt, anger, confusion, jealousy. This infighting increases conflict, wastes energy, and does not change minds or hearts.
I know not how to defeat others. I only know how to win over myself.~Morihei Ueshiba (founder of Akido)
The universe and nature are our greatest teacher: The energy of a stream flows through the forest smoothly having created its path around rocks and myriad natural obstacles. The bamboo tree sways and bends in the wind, but never breaks. When you remain calm and in harmony with your own personal state and the state of your surroundings, the natural energy can flow smoothly. Accepting our spiritual Truth informs our human experience to not settle in life or believe that this is all the good we can have. We need only to learn to Love the One Your With. But what and who is your "with?"
The soul needs love as urgently as the body needs air. In the warmth of love, the soul can be itself. All the possibilities of your human destiny are asleep in your soul. You are here to realize and honor these possibilities. When love comes in to your life, unrecognized dimensions of your destiny awaken and blossom and grow.
