BE, DO, Then HAVE Right Now

“I woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Spirit!”

When we keep our attention focused on our relationship with and as Divine Intelligence throughout the day, our perspectives and perceptions of life are filtered through the lens of Truth, Love, and Oneness, giving us the resilience and perseverance to meet whatever may come our way.

We are called to a higher state of consciousness that informs us of our best next steps in thought, feeling, and action.

But we got to get ourselves in the flow of Spirit where we can give up striving, being fearful, and being attached to outcomes, especially success. If we start our day knowing the Source of All and connecting to this energy we can tap into at any time and is always available to work through us as Divine Perfection, and remind ourselves of this powerful, pervasive constructive, and loving Presence, we can begin working through the channels of that Good - that Good of good ideas and bring it into our everyday experiences.

We can then look at any challenges or conditions, any circumstances, anything happening in the world - positive or negative- and know that nothing is more powerful than the Divine source within.

We are each powerful creators and when we consistently claim that power, only Good can come to and from us. That Good can come as something wonderful and positive or a lesson that leads us to the wonderful and positive. It's a mindset; it's not a religious thing, though it could be, it's not even necessarily a spiritual thing, though it really is whether you call it that or not. This is a mindset of being the person who achieves, not just doing the doings to achieve their goal. It's about authenticity and power, as well as talent and skill. In other words,  we are to first BE the one that can DO what it takes to reach the HAVE (the goal).

You gotta BE before you DO in order to HAVE what you want. So the first question we ask ourselves each day is:

Who do I need to be in order to accomplish this goal? What do I need to embody?

This establishes your state of being. That's why I wake up each morning with my mind on Spirit, the Power and Presence within me, the Divine urge that outflows wisdom through me, the direct authority I am right now -without adding a title, degree, etc.- to be the authentic me, sharing my time, talent, and treasure powerfully, boldly, meaningfully, and full-heartedly whether it is for a day of rest, work, or play.

We are in the Water of Infinite Life as the fish is in the ocean…The Spirit of Life is all around us. It flows through us. It permeates everything.  ~This Thing Called Life

So we start the day knowing:

I am Being the channel and expression of the best me; here to deliver my gifts, my talents, and my skills with confidence and inner authority, withholding nothing.

Now, I answer the question, "What do I need to do in order to accomplish this goal that I have today?"

Well, since I am the channel of the Divine Flow:

  • I can dial up the talents required
  • I can dial up the allies required
  • I can make sure I and/or my team takes the path of least resistance mentally and physically
  • I can strategically choose the best course whether that's further education, getting coaching, joining an accountability group, even stepping back and regrouping to prevent burn-out or feeling stuck, figuring out how to optimize my time.

This DO-time is when we get clear on the right actions, the best strategies, and even develop the best behaviors to have the goal....to have the Have.

It is a time to take action, like in this story:

There were two seeds laying side by side in the fertile soil.

The first seed said, "I want to grow! I want to send my roots deep into the soil beneath me, and thrust my sprouts through the earth´s crust above me.

I want to unfurl my tender buds like banners to announce the arrival of spring. I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my face and the blessing of the morning dew on my petals!"

And so she grew...

On the other hand, the second seed said, "Hmmmm. If I send my roots into the ground below, I don´t know what I will encounter in the dark.

If I push my way through the hard soil above me I may damage my delicate sprouts. What if I let my buds open and a snail tries to eat them?

And if I were to open my blossoms, a small child may pull me from the ground. No, no, no, no, no it is much better for me to wait until it is safe."  And so she waited.

Then, one day, a yard hen scratching around in the early spring ground for food found the waiting seed...and promptly ate it.

Moral of The Story: Those who DREAM BIG and THINK from knowing who they are will grow and prosper. Those who think negatively and refuse to BE before they DO, risk getting swallowed up by life.

What would the best of You do? That could be the ideas and actions a mentor might take, but your version of it. Either way:

There is a Center in you that already knows.  Develop the consciousness that flows from this Center, for It is the Secret Place of the Most High within you.  ~Ernest Holmes

Finally, with our minds on Spirit, embodying the personal power of that within you and as you, and the process thought through, strategies set up, and clarity on the actions to take, it's time to Have.

Have at it:

  • lean into the flow
  • express your gifts
  • trust the process
  • listen to the voice of your vision
  • answer the next calls, if any
  • and most importantly, enjoy the journey as well as the results

Trust yourself in the process and trust the Divine in you for guidance. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in his essay, Heroism, "Self-trust is the essence of heroism."

Be heroic by embodying the power in you. What is the Divine Urge seeking to express through you today, tomorrow...the next day?

To BE, DO, then HAVE that expression happen for you Right Now
...you got this!!!!

Affirmative Incantation

Knowing that the Divine Presence is closer to me than my very breath, I have complete faith in the outcome of my day.

I feel Divine Love surrounding me and Its protection uplifting me.

And I hear It's Song of Joy forever chanting Its empowering voice at the center of my being.

I direct my thought to Be the powerful badass that I am with efficiency and humor, Do my best every moment of the day, and thus Have what I seek as I work with and through the rock-solid presence of the radiant Spirit within me. Divine Intelligence informs me of the best actions to take, therefore I focus only on positive and constructive thoughts and ideas.

Joyfully, I expect greater abundance, the highest level of fulfillment, superlative success, and a deeper peace all through my day.

The Greatest Secret Is There Is No Secret

photo by Kristina Flour on unsplash.com

I'm sick of all the insincere...

This time

Don't need another perfect lie

Don't care if critics ever jump in line

I'm gonna give all my secrets away

~Ryan Tedder, lead vocalist – One Republic

The greatest secret of them all is there is no secret:

...there is no secret way to manifest

...there is no secret way to stay healthy

...there is no secret to healthy relationships

...there is no secret to any of that or more

There is no secret because, by definition, nothing is being kept from you. And it's not just because there are books to read for these tools and ideas, the best teachers are out there to teach you these tools and ideas, or even because the internet has these tools and ideas readily available to search for. Your mindfulness, imagination, curiosity, open-heartedness, sense of wonder, and being present is all the education you require.

Your senses are your teacher. Your willingness to explore is your teacher. The power and presence that is innate in you is your teacher. No one and no thing is keeping a secret from you.

Exploration isn't just about hiking the Andes, diving into the Mariana Trench, or experimenting with hallucinogens. Exploration is living with eyes wide open. Exploration is having your heart and brain awake. Exploration is hearing, listening, and comprehending. Exploration is allowing, connecting, and receiving inspiration, information, and motivation.

All of that is already a part of you. All of that is given to you at birth, even if some biology of the senses are not working like others, another takes over with added sensitivity...it's not a secret.

There is no need for a dark night of the soul to have a breakthrough. You are not more deserving of enlightenment if you have:

...felt isolated from any or everything and abandoned by God or the Universe

...felt lost and confused about your direction

...felt despair and horror with what's going on in the world

...felt a sense of overwhelming dread or deep tiredness in your bones

...felt your motivation shot to hell and a loss of interest in most things

Keep pondering your purpose or who you are and feel like you don’t belong on this planet or trauma, sadness, hurt, etc.

You also don't have to go through:

  • Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling loss...then
  • Shifting perspectives...then
  • Seeking answers and meaning...then
  • Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs...then
  • Disillusionment and feeling lost again...then
  • Deeper inner work...before
  • Integration, expansion, and joy shows up in your life

I'm not saying it is wrong to go through those things; the point is...you don't have to.

Believing there's some secret(s) that is kept from us that we have to seek out “or else,” puts us in a lack/victim mode. Why start there?!? - behind, catching up or even middle there or end there?

I didn't have to have kidney stones to tap into some anger that was lurking in me, except that I wasn't open to learning and dealing with it without the 4-day pain event - evidently. But there was no secret kept from me. I didn't have to go through the whole pre-divorce marriage junk events to see the red flags, I chose to ignore them. Some reasons for that were noble and some were because of wearing a blindfold, but there was no secret kept from me.

We should start in the empowered mode, and expand from there. We don't need to go through a long process to authenticate the Divine in us. Authentication is not just about proof, but about acknowledgment, awakening and allowing, knowing and believing, and sitting in a pool of faith. There's no hypothesis that has to be proved unless you're starting in disbelief. There's no empirical evidence that you have to generate to answer the big questions; your wonderment, curiosity, imagination, and insight generate those answers.

Oh, I could give you tricks and hacks, reminders, and philosophy. And I do – every week. I could quote you to an inspired frenzy, motivate, lead, and teach you ideas and tools. And I do – every week. But it isn't a secret. You don't have to belong to a club or society, there's no dues required or fees involved, not even a book you must read or guru you must follow ...except me :)

There is no great and no small

To the Soul that maketh all:

And where it cometh, all things are

And it cometh everywhere.

I am owner of the sphere,

Of the seven stars and the solar year,

Of Caesar's hand, and Plato's brain,

Of [Yeshua's] heart, and Shakespeare's strain.

There is one mind common to all [individuals]. Every[one] is an inlet to the same and to all of the same. [One] that is once admitted to the right of reason is made [free] of the whole estate. What Plato has thought, [you] may think; what a saint has felt, [you] may feel; what at any time has befallen any[one], [all] can understand. Who hath access to this universal mind is a party to all that is or can be done, for this is the only and sovereign agent.   ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

We see multiplicity and we experience multiplicity, but the Truth is there is One Mind. And we are a sovereign agent of that One Mind. Because of that, we have access to the Universal Mind and all its information, wisdom, and infinite possibilities.

And if there is one mind, there is no secret to hold...no secret to be had. There is only education, enlightenment, and awakening, and we authenticate that by living it.

The doctrine of identity can claim that it is clinched by the empirical fact that
consciousness is never experienced in the plural, only in the singular. Not only has none of us ever experienced more than one consciousness, but there is also no trace of circumstantial evidence of this ever happening anywhere in the world.
~Erwin Schroedinger, Nobel Prize-winning physicist and noted expert in quantum theory, statistical and electro mechanics, colour theory, thermodynamics,  general relativity, and cosmology – considered one of the fathers of quantum mechanics

We are going to discuss some quantum mechanics later this month. Till then, let us remember the greatest secret of them all is that there is no secret. There is only learning, remembering, awakening, and allowing.

You have already been stamped - certified

you are confirmed

you have been given full access

you are endorsed, validated, licensed, approved, and ratified.

you are the sovereign agent of all information, everywhere.

All you have to do is put the authentic You into practice!

Affirmative Incantation

I attest that Spirit empowers me to be my authenticate self

I attest to the freedom of choice that I always have to embody the best ideas.

I attest that any pain in my life is merely the compost to my next triumph.

I attest that I don't strive, I thrive

I attest to the Truth of my Being:

I am a bold, brave, succulent spiritual being having a vibrant, successful, and loving human experience.

And I go through anything and everything with that idea always supporting and guiding me.

REMOVING OUR HUMAN CLOTHING

When you take your clothes off, what is left? Your naked body...your birthday suit?

When you take your human clothing off  -not just the clothes-  the skin, the bones, hair, teeth, organs, along with your mental stuff, your practicalities, your actions; down to the very cells of this vehicle called the physical body...what is left?

Some would say “nothing.” Some would be wrong. What is left...

          is everything

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.  ~Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

When all else seems to be failing, when nothing seems to be going my way, when my life seems to have been wasted, I know it's time to remove my human clothing. I'm not talking about ending it all, returning to pure Spirit, because I don't have to end it all to connect to and live as pure Spirit.

We've seen that proved in many NDE stories.

Read:  "Proof of Heaven" by Eben Alexander

...a neurosurgeon who had a week-long coma brought on by meningitis and was incapable of brain activity yet he remembers this experience of pure Spirit.

Read:  "To Heaven and Back" by Mary C. Neal

...former director of spinal surgery at the University of Southern California was submerged in a river after a kayaking accident.

Read:  "Dying to Be Me" by Anita Moorjani

Read:  "After:  A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal about Life and Beyond" by Dr. Bruce Grayson

...Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry & Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia

In these stories, we learn that we aren't our successes or failures, or our brains or our bodies, we are spiritual beings.

You might remember that story I've told about the 5-year-old boy who kept asking his parents to spend some time alone with his new sister. When his parents asked him why he wanted this alone time with the new baby, the 5-year-old said that he needed to talk to her because he was starting to forget God.

Have you forgotten how you are connected with Divine Intelligence?

Like God or the concept that is referred to as God, we are infinite beings. That creative energy that makes and made all, we are part of that. That is our essence - our Alpha and Zeta, our beginning and ending, from"womb to tomb," "birth to earth," our before and beyond...no time, no space.

Leslie Caron is quoted as saying:

In order to have great happiness you have to have great pain and unhappiness - otherwise how would you know when you're happy?

No offense to Ms. Caron, a nice person whose voice lessons followed mine many years ago. And others who have said something similar...I totally disagree. I don't believe you need a comparison to know or appreciate happiness, health, or success. To me, that idea is an ignorance of the learned, from one who is out-of-touch with one's Greater Self. Too many of us on too many occasions are not present in our bodies or minds. Marcus Aurelius, philosophical Emperor of Rome in the second century said:

The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable...

And Margaret Lee Runbeck, author of 16 books and famous for her quotes, wrote:

Happiness is not a station to arrive at, but a manner of traveling.

How are you traveling and where are you traveling from? I can't answer that for you, that's your perspective to decide upon. But I can tell you that when you strip away your human clothing and awaken to your spiritual magnificence, intelligence, and creativity, you tap into an infinite storehouse of information, intuited ideas, wisdom, a foundation for clarity, and calm. When you remove your human clothing, you don't talk at the Universe...you talk to It, with It, and as It. You talk to that Power and Presence of Nature, that Infinite Wisdom. You connect to and converse with the Light and Power of God.

It is a sensation, a feeling like love. You don't see that Light, you experience IT. You don't see that Power, you live IT. Your goals may be powerful, but unless you connect with them like you do with Spirit, they are merely words and wishes, hopes and possibilities.

Remove the ego of lack, maybe, someday, tomorrow, before, victim-hood, bills, bosses, news, dis-ease of body, brain, relationships or situations, and even successes, acclaim, talents, victories, or any prosperity. Remove them from your head for now and what is left? Not emptiness, but the most full of all!

You are left with the Prime. Do you remember what prime is? It is a number that can only be divided by itself and one, just like Spirit, the Divine Mind, the Creative Power, First Cause, the Absolute, the energy and frequency of the Big Bang, the Formless, the Radiance. Prime = One.

Remove our human clothing and we are at our Prime, our very essence / our very worth our headquarters / our factory settings, the basis of our existence, the dawn of our being, the birth of our humanity, the Genesis, the starting point.

Yeah, yeah, [Beyonce wrote] and the wind is talkin'

...With a melody that pulls you towards it

Paintin' pictures of paradise

Sayin', rise up ...light in the sky...

Watch the light lift your heart up

Burn your flame through the night

...Watch the heavens open

Yeah, Spirit

Can you hear it callin'?

Connect to, commune with, and awaken as the divine within you. Always start there and end there, no matter where you are or what's going on. It is there, without your human clothing, where you enhance, support, ground, center, expand, love, and transform your spiritual experience into your human experience...

...now, tomorrow, and forever.

Affirmative Incantation

I disrobe from my human clothing

...taking off the worries, disgust, judgments, and disappointments

I peel off the sludge of that which does not serve my greatest good

...stripping down to my very soul

I divest of my ego

...and undress to my very essence

Today, Spirit speaks through me

Today, intuition from the wisdom of the ages guides me

Today, I am emboldened by my True Self to be bold and brave

Revealing the Divinity within me

Vibrating at the speed of that Divine Power

And busting through to soar and zoom into my best day.

Infinite Possibilities

Ever read “Dorian Grey?” The main characters show three aspects of Oscar Wilde:

"Basil Hallward is what I think I am."

...conventionally minded (Basil is the painter of the portrait of Dorian, who becomes his muse in art and life).

"Lord Henry is what the world thinks of me."

...a charming famous wit and brilliant intellect, possessed of “wrong, fascinating, poisonous, delightful theories.”

"Dorian what I would like to be."

...the archetype of male youth/beauty, though exceptionally vain and narcissistic, convinced that his youth/physical attractiveness is his most salient characteristic, which leads to his death as the painting absorbs and reveals his narcissistic and unethical ways.

Our lives, similar to Dorian's picture in the attic, are a reflection of our self-image. This begs the questions:

How does self-image impact my life?

How is self-image formed?

How do I change my self-image?

Self-image lives in the subconscious mind. Your attitudes, perspective, perception, opinions all sit in your subconscious mind and all your reactions to events are triggers from memory and emotion. These triggers and reactions are dependent on how we see ourselves and our place in the Universe and the opportunities we feel we can grab onto.

Our self-image sitting in our subconscious is like the auto-pilot on a plane. The minute we go off-course in any area of our lives that doesn't match the self-image we have set up, then our course is corrected by the perspectives and attitudes embedded in our subconscious.

Say you want to lose weight – so you go on a diet. But how do you see yourself – your self-image? Has this weight become the new norm? Do you see yourself as this norm? Without accepting yourself as the new weight in your self-image, the weight will return, the eating habits will return — the auto-pilot in your subconscious will insist. It's not just a habit of eating practices, you've got to change your thinking about it.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete. ~Buckminster Fuller

Is a million dollars a large amount of money to you? Ten million? How about $50? It's all just a bunch of paper we trade for goods or services. However, it's also energy. When we are wowed by the bigger numbers or pooh-pooh the lower amounts, we are giving money a fear and lack energy.

Change your thoughts, change the energy about money.

Say with me:

I am so happy and grateful now that money comes to me in increasing amounts through continuous multiple sources.

I am so happy and appreciative that health and wellness show up in my life as vitality and vibrancy at every moment.

I am so happy and thankful that love, kindness, compassion, affection, and respect surround me all of my days from morning to night and back to morning again.

I am so happy and in deep gratitude for the peace and grace that constantly envelopes my every experience.

You could go on and on with this in every single part of your life. With consistency, within thirty – ninety days, you will start buying into those ideas. And they will start to live in your subconscious and inform your every reaction, action, and perspective.

You see, your subconscious is like a plant you continue to feed and nourish every moment. Like your body, what are you feeding it? Does that feeding nourish and flourish the system? or starve, struggle or stress it?

We live in a universe of infinite frequencies. In fact, had they had the technology to build a smartphone in the '30s, they could have used those same frequencies as we do today. The frequencies were already there, we just didn't know how to utilize them. The same is true for your frequency of success, wealth, health, etc. - it's all there and there's an infinite way to use them. We just have to learn to connect to those opulent frequencies. When we connect and awaken our awareness like science and technology did for the phone, we can use those infinite frequencies/possibilities to strengthen our knowledge and beliefs.

Our consciousness dictates the frequency we ride in life. If it's a low frequency of fear, dis-ease, anger, frustration, victimhood, and shame — all things seem to be done at or to me.

If it's a high frequency of passion, ease, love, peace, empowerment, success, and joy — things are done as and through me... and on purpose.

What are you consenting to in your life? The few things you have? or the unlimited things available to you? We get to choose.

God is infinite, God is eternal

And you are the God of your thoughts

the God of your feelings
the God of your imagination
the God of your subconscious

The subconscious always says “Yes.” It doesn't decide – your conscious mind decides...it accepts. It doesn't think...your conscious mind thinks and the subconscious acts.

Now any change can take some time. That paradigm in your subconscious, oh, it will put up a fight. But our job isn't to fight it - it's to change it by taking conscious control over it and focusing it in a new direction.

There is a difference between WISHING for a thing and being READY to receive it. No one is ready for a thing, until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be BELIEF, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Close minds will not inspire faith, courage, and belief.  ~Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich

Are you open-minded to the possibility of infinite possibilities? Better question - do you have faith in limited possibilities or infinite possibilities? If you don't have faith in infinite possibilities, you have faith in limited possibilities. And if you have faith in limited possibilities, when do you think you'll run through them?

If you said your faith lies in the limited...you are wrong. Well, you are right in that your decision makes it so in your life, however, you are wrong in that the idea of limited possibilities is not a Universal Truth.

You cannot limit the ever-expanding Universe, you cannot limit the energy exuded in that expansion, and you cannot limit the frequencies of light and matter created by the energy of the expanding Universe...which we will never catch up with.

The proper distance … between Earth and the edge of the observable universe is 46 billion light-years. … but this does not represent the distance at any given time because the edge of the observable universe and the Earth have since moved further apart.   ~Extra Dimensions in Space and Time by Itzhak Bars (Professor of Physics at the University of Southern CA, L. A.) and John Terning (Professor of Physics at University of CA, Davis)

American astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered in the 1920s that the Universe is expanding by showing that most galaxies are receding from the Milky Way. The Hubble Constant tells us that for each additional megaparsec (around 3.26 million light-years) of distance, galaxies recede 500 kilometres per second faster — so the Hubble constant was 500 in units of kilometres per second per megaparsec.

Yeah, I don't get the numbers much either, they are mind-boggling, but that is the science of the expanding Universe. With expanded possibilities, there are mind-boggling possibilities. Fuel your mind and imagination with that.

How does self-image impact my life?

It is the frequency by which my subconscious talks to me and the Law

How is self-image formed?

By our awareness to the Truth and by the use of these principles in our conscious mind. Yes, upbringing and environment play their part, but more by our continuous self-talk and connection to Spirit.

How do I change my self-image?

  • Accepting I have the power
  • Awakening to the Truth
  • Putting that Truth into action with words, prayer, action, centering, grounding, deciding, knowing, awakening, connecting, using the affirmative incantations - in general, by working your Mind over and over again

Say with me again:

I am so happy and grateful now that money comes to me in increasing amounts through continuous multiple sources.

I am so happy and appreciative that health and wellness show up in my life as vitality and vibrancy at every moment.

I am so happy and thankful that love, kindness, compassion, affection, and respect surround me all of my days from morning to night and back to morning again.

I am so happy and in deep gratitude for the peace and grace that constantly envelopes my every moment.

You go to the mirror and tell yourself that...no one else will. I can tell you till I'm blue in the face, and yes, I am here to remind you – and that's okay. But you gotta tell you! You have to tap into that frequency of infinite possibilities and place it into your life...and I do too.

Join me in tapping into the infinite possibilities of the Universe!

And make this second half of 2021 our most fabulous!

Affirmative Incantation

Today I use my Word to open up to new possibilities.

These new possibilities inform me of the best next steps to take.

And those best next steps I take activate the Universe to deliver more opportunities to achieve multiple streams of opulence in my life.

With all these opportunities showing up from the Universe, I make myself available to use my expertise as an irreplaceable asset to all those who need what I do.

I am so happy and grateful that the river of prosperity is flowing to me right now. I am drenched in an abundance of love, wealth, and vitality. The possibilities are infinite and I grab them all.

Letting Go of Yesterday

Every night I lie in bed

The brightest colours fill my head

A million dreams are keeping me awake

I think of what the world could be

A vision of the one I see

A million dreams is all it's gonna take

A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

~Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest Showman

I wanted to remind you of a few things about your yesterdays. This isn't to get you off the hook of the work of acknowledging, releasing, and letting go of the old stories that are cluttering your consciousness and getting in the way of manifesting your dreams. Our past experiences, stories, yesterdays can have a significant impact on our beliefs, and many times we don't even realize it's happening. Sometimes we have to dive deep to even realize they are there just so we can acknowledge them, even before we face them, forgive them, neutralize them, release them, and replace them.

I've talked about radical self-forgiveness that has nothing to do with the other party. And even if it does have something to do with another person - as Oscar Wilde said:

Always forgive your enemies—nothing annoys them so much.

I've given you the tool called PLACE (see "What's Your Response?"):  Pause, Label, Ask, Choose, Express. So you respond vs. react to situations because reactions come from yesterday's stories.

There's the 4-step shame and regret process I shared (see "What Are You Looking At?")to get squeaky clean with our ethics and integrity and neutralize the power yesterday's story has a hold on us.

Or you could follow Tony Robbins' (and others) advice to:

1. Turn "letting go" of the past into a “must”

Gaining a clear sense of purpose to move beyond the hold of yesterday and serve as your emotional drive when you feel like raging, hiding, etc.

2. Identify your emotional habits

Emotions are like a muscle. The trauma or challenging incident can train us to feel frustrated, sad, stressed, untrusting. However, you can train yourself to stay passionate, joyful, and strong, even when something bad happens in your life or reminds you of your yesterdays. When you catch yourself falling into a negative emotional habit, try to cut off the thought and switch gears immediately. This new conditioning will re-wire those emotions to have less or no effect as a trigger.

3. Condition your mind and work on personal growth

Feed your mind and soul with empowering stories instead of limiting ones.  Surround yourself with people who make you better and put yourself in a peak state of mind and action. Focus on learning and improving your mind and heart, and thus your self-respect and perception.

4. Create empowering rituals

Build momentum by practicing gratitude, meditation, affirmative prayer, journaling, etc. All the spiritual practices we talk about and work.

5. Focus on what you can control

You can’t take back an unhealthy relationship, but you can learn from it. You can’t go back in time and fix a bad childhood, but you can realize that “Your past does not equal your future.” From the minute you wake up, you make choices. In fact, that could be your greatest birthrights - volition and choice. Learning how to let go of the past means breaking the pattern and focusing on creating the life you deserve, not dwelling on the one you used to have.

7. Give back

No matter how broke you may be or how broken you feel, you have something to offer others – even if it’s something as common as a smile or a listening ear. Realize that the secret to living is giving.

Not a Tony Robbins or NLP fan? Alice Morse Earle put it very plainly in the early 1900s:

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.

Here is the most important thing happening in the present that I want you to grasp onto, awaken to and allow Its transformative abilities to take hold:

If God is all there is, then EVERYTHING in our life is God speaking.

Doubt, pain, resistance, and misery are a calling for reconnecting our humanness with our spiritual essence.  It holds no judgment or opinion of the experience! When you begin to see yesterdays that pop up in our 'todays' as a blessing, you tap into an opportunity to remember the fundamental truth that God is all-in in your life and ready to wave the flag and hold your hand, if need be, and point us to the Truth to:

REALIZE  ACCEPT  KNOW

  • Realize your feelings are valid
  • Accept that God has given you all that is needed to step through yesterday's junk
  • Know you have the power of choosing and then choosing again and again and again

I would like to conclude with a poem I heard about and found on this subject.

She Let Go

by Safire Rose

She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go.

She didn’t journal about it.

She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.

She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.

She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.

She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.

She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.

She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.

She didn’t call the prayer line.

She didn’t utter one word.

She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.

There was no applause or congratulations.

No one thanked her or praised her.

No one noticed a thing.

Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort.

There was no struggle.

It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.

It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.

A light breeze blew through her.

And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…

You will probably face setbacks and challenges, I have. But with conviction and a purpose that drives you, you will stay focused and dedicated when those yesterdays show up. Then you can acknowledge, release, and let go. Don’t beat yourself up for what has happened in the past - all god's children's got stuff. Beyond your own self-work, please seek out spiritual counseling - I do, cognitive therapy - I have, and know that you can and will let go of your yesterdays and manifest your million dreams.

I know you can!

Let's Get Some Joy

Reflections on Easter 2021:

Stepping into the unknown, the silence, we get on the path less traveled, the road not always taken - to paraphrase Robert Frost. In our year of Awakening, we have stepped into believing It and loving It. Then we observed It, and now it's time to Declutter It...with joy.

We believe in the eternality, the immortality, and the continuity of the individual soul forever expanding.

We believe that we experience this expansion to the degree that we become conscious of it, awakening to it wisdom and allowing ourselves to be free from discord of every nature. And if we step away from that awareness, it's always there to resurrect Itself in our lives.

Easter celebrates the presence, power, love, and wisdom of one who believed this. He is called the great exception, Yeshua ben Yosef (Joshua son of Joseph - a common name for the times). He grew up to become a radical evolutionary who dared go against the grain of the Jewish religion and establishment

In Matthew 5:17, Yeshua was quoted as saying,

Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.

Did he walk on water? I don't know.

Did he raise Lazarus from the dead? I don't know.

Did he heal the sick and diseased and multiply the loaves and fishes? I don't know and I don't really care....at least it doesn't matter to me in order to appreciate him. What matters is the lessons the Gospels spoke about that came from him. All the Gospels, not just the New Testament.

Here's a guy who taught joy. To me, joy is not about happiness, which is a state of mind, a mood that comes and goes per an experience or the anticipation of an experience. Joy is a state of belief and being. Joy is found in a deep connection to God, the true source and substance of the experiences you may or may not be happy about. This man called Jesus lived his life...on purpose and in joy.

Who was this long-haired Jew that most of the world commemorates on Easter? And why is the story of this simple guy is so important as an example to us all? Yeshua was:

  • A Way Shower living a life teaching what Ezekial spoke of in 36:26:  A new heart will I give you, a new spirit will I put within you, and I will remove the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Which means a consciousness full of feeling, in rhythm with and vibrating at the speed of the Divine.
  • A radical nonviolent revolutionary who hung out with lepers, prostitutes, rich man, poor man, young and old.
  • Forgiveness was his game and he taught us to forgive 70 times 7, as often and as long as it takes to reach the resurrection of the daily use of our highest self.
  • A brown-skinned middle-eastern Jew that didn't speak English, Greek, or Latin.
  • A homeless community organizer.
  • A healer that never asked for a co-pay, only that you believed in your healing.

He didn't teach:

  • Against birth control or abortion
  • The death penalty or torture as being acceptable
  • Baptism - see John 4
  • Holy Communion as a sacred ritual
  • Anything about sexuality
  • Wealth made you a more successful person or lack of wealth made you a less successful person
  • The concept of hell or that heaven was an afterlife location or somewhere out beyond the skies
  • The concept of Original Sin, nor did he speak of man’s fall from God’s Grace.

He DID teach:

  • Oneness - respect for each other, no matter the social standing.
  • Love was the only way.
  • Purifying the soul was capable through forgiveness.
  • That the Power and Presence of the Divine is within:  The Kingdom of God is within you.  ~Luke 18:21
  • Manifesting was through belief or faith or consciousness (right thinking or righteousness), and the power of our perceptions is key to our life's experiences:  Your Faith has healed you... and If you have Faith the size of a mustard seed... and Let it be to you according to your Belief... ~Luke 17:19, Mark 5:34, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 9:29
  • You speak a gospel (a joyous word) when you pray, revealing the Divine Council which is available at all times.  ~Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4 (Lord's Prayer)
  • God is like a beloved parent, the ever-present counsel that created all and is in all and does the heavy-lifting, through the Law of Cause and Effect.  ~Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4 (Lord's Prayer)
  • Prayer is a personal communion between oneself and the Divine:  Go into your inner room and lock the door... and ...do not pray to be seen or that others can hear…  ~Matthew 6:5-6
  • The Divine Light and the Inner Light are the same: You are the Light of the World …give light to all who are in the house! and Let your Light so shine before men that they may see your good works. ~Matthew 5:14 – 16 (also in “Godspell”)
  • Non-Judgment, Nonresistance, Detachment & Release in The Parables of the Rich Man & Young Man & The Parable of the Woman caught in adultery & the Pharisees in the Temple.
  • The Laws of Abundance:  I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly. ~John 10:10
  • The way of overcoming obstacles is through surrendering to a Higher Power which comes through communing with our Highest Self.

...Jesus’s many parables of the Kingdom ...lean heavily on the language of growth and development. His common metaphors for growth are the seed, the growing ear of corn, weeds and wheat growing together, and the rising of yeast. His parable of the “reign of God” are …about finding, discovering, being surprised, experiencing reversals of expectations, changing roles and status. None of these notions are static; they are always about something new and good coming into being.  ~Richard Rohr, Universal Christ

Let the evil pass over you by sacrificing your lack and limitation, hate and judgment, and have an exodus from that kind of bondage. Elaine Pagels reminds us that...

...the Gospel of Thomas talks about how you must go in a sort of a spiritual quest of your own to discover who you are, and to discover really that you are the child of God just like Jesus.

You are the child of God...

- a perfect idea to blossom this Spring -

...the Light of the world

Actively resurrect your greatest self by tapping into the Truth every day and take action on what you hear in the silence. Let's get some joy by communing with our innermost and highest Light. And not only know our Truth but live it!

...just like Yeshua taught!

Affirmative Incantation

As I observe the Power and Presence that is within, I focus on Its unconditional love and tap into Its infinite wisdom. I look at the world through my Divine Matrix, melding the intelligence, feelings, and inspiration that await me.

I look at my world as one in unity with all Nature, expecting kindness, respect, and love to illuminate every experience. My responses are heartfelt, thoughtful, and speak only to my values and purpose.

It is now that I heed the call to commune with the Universe and activate my highest self. I embrace this joyous transformation and allow me to enter the land of milk and honey, abundant with prosperity in all facets of this creative life.

What's Your Response?

Three men are traveling on a ship when they are accosted by the Devil. The Devil proposes that if each man drops something into the sea and he cannot find it, he will be that man's slave. If the Devil does find it, however, he will eat that man up.

The first man reacts by immediately slipping off his Rolex watch and dropping in the ocean, confident of his choice. Poof, he disappears, eaten by Satan. The second man quickly drops a pure, clear diamond into the ocean, sure this cannot be found; and poof, he's gone, eaten up by the evil horned essence.

The third man, not one to react quickly, thinks a moment, contemplating the situation and his life. He then fills a bottle with water and calmly pours it into the sea. Smiling, he turns to the Devil and says, “Try finding that!"

Did you ever wish you would have responded versus reacted to a situation, comment, or condition? Or be able to take back the snark or yell or cursing or worse? Some people think that the words "react" and "respond" are synonyms, but to me, they are practically antonyms.

When I react to something, it's instantaneous, without thought, usually driven by lingering biases or fueled by some defense mechanism projecting my old stories or insecurities. It is subconsciously full of blame and I end up taking it out on the other person. This reaction has some unconscious survival theme to it using words or actions I come to regret.

A reaction usually comes from a short-sighted, sometimes aggressive, or out-of-control impulse. We might freeze, flinch, run away, or even want to physically fight someone - i.e. a Fight or Flight Reaction! Our stress is high, cortisol is running rampant, and you might shake or sweat as your hackles are up. You may have been triggered by the conversation to expose things you are in denial about or things you have repressed or regressed, stuff you have put away and rationalized. For example, say your boss yells at you, but you don't yell back, and later take it out on your partner by yelling at them over something stupid. Or you may blurt stuff out because you have intellectualized or compartmentalized a past hurt and the conversation triggered that memory. Reacting can be a dangerous answer to a situation.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.  ~Victor Frankl

Responding, on the other hand, is a conscious, intentional, purposeful answer where we utilize our mindfulness skills before speaking or acting. Here, we are able to get beyond the emotion and into the information; more likely producing a calm, value-centered, and connected solution. It’s important to acknowledge that this is a skill that requires repeated practice. And that’s okay! Our journey in these bodies is always going to be an adventure, unfolding.

I understand that it's doesn't always seem possible to respond versus react when in a stressful event full of triggers. If you feel threatened or hurt, your brain and body have what I call unnatural natural reactions that are coming from your stories, perspective, opinions that too often are hiding, waiting for the opportunity to get triggered and lash out from.

It is the goal of this philosophy to move towards interacting with ourselves, others, and the world from a more centered and peaceful place. That's part of the job of the guided meditations, affirmative incantations, and prayer; by becoming grounded, centered, mindful through spiritual practices, and remembering who we truly are. In fact, in these reactive-prone situations, your spiritual and mindfulness practices become the precursor to your use of responsive answers and actions in a situation.

Before I give you some tools to use, I want to say that we can use our reactions to observe what the heck is in our way from our skills in manifesting, moving forward, or getting healthy. They are an insight into the junk ideas, old stories, and perspectives that are blocking our bliss. So don't get down on yourself, use your reactions as a learning tool, along with the following:

This responding tool is called PLACE.

Pause, Label, Ask, Choose, Express

1. Pause

You know the MAD TV sketch with Bob Newhart as the psychiatrist who uses his fancy education to tell his patient, after her victim-filled rant, to just "STOP IT." Though the sketch is funny, especially to fans of The Bob Newhart Show, it's a reactive answer to her situation and yet, in the end, not a bad response. Of course, the more proper course would be to take her through the stories, asking questions, guiding her to come up with realizations and answers herself.. All of which would lead her and most of us to "stop it." Maybe it was a cry for that fictional psychiatrist to take a vacation and get refreshed in order for him to "stop it," stop reacting and begin responding again to his patients. At the very least, he needed to remember to PAUSE

The moment you notice you are triggered and that your energy has changed, take a moment to pause and breathe.

2. Label Your Emotions

Name it. What you’re feeling? is it anger, frustration, sadness, grief? Identifying how we feel helps us process our emotions. After all, it's our emotions that are getting in our way. So, label them, realize what's going on with you. It will take the heat off the matter.

3. Ask Yourself: Why?

You've paused and labeled, now ask yourself, "Why was I triggered? What was it that triggered me?" This can bring awareness to what is under the surface for you. It might not be what the person said that upset you (probably wasn't at all), but that it was a reminder of a different memory that sparks an unresolved emotion in you. Or perhaps you're just more sensitive today than yesterday, feeling unwell, or had a bad day, etc. The big question for yourself is "how can you best communicate what will best serve the discussion all are involved in at this moment?"

4. Choose A Mindful Response

This is the big one! Consider the labeled emotion(s) and discover the trigger before you choose what’s important to share about your experience. Choose to communicate the answer which is connected to the situation at hand, not your old stories. A response is not harmful or unproductive. A reaction most probably will be.

5. Express

When we think big picture, we put the situation in context. When we blend logic with our emotions and balance those immediate emotional responses with thoughts and facts, we fill in the blanks of what's reactive and what is responsive. Recognize your choices, and create a 20/20 vision (an imagined 20/20 vision, yes) to determine your best response to the current situation. We answer with thought rather than emotion, care versus haphazardness, mindfulness instead of fear, and all with love, not hate or anger.

The man who is asleep reacts; he knows nothing of action. And reaction is a binding: it binds you into new prisons, new chains. Response is out of freedom, hence it brings more freedom. Reaction is out of the past; you act according to your memories, built-in by your experiences, conditionings. You react not to the present, not in the present. You don`t reflect the real situation as it is; you go on interpreting it according to your past, your past experiences. The man who is awake is like a mirror: he reflects that which is the case. HE IS AWAKE.   ~Osho Rajneesh

Our best prayers, our most powerful meditations, and our greatest manifestations come from an absence of fear, chaos, desperation, and destructive emotions. Let us take away our old stories from the conversations with ourselves, others, and ultimately Spirit and replace them with thoughtful intentions, awakened purpose, and the energetic frequency of fulfillment. Move the energy of your conversations with a love of life and the Light of the Divine. Then watch your experiences glow with peace, prosperity, and ease.

Affirmative Incantation

I look from my deepest Source

I look at infinite and prosperous possibilities

And I look to a world where peace, Oneness, love, freedom, and appreciation reign.

Today I declare these ideas as the way I experience my life. And attract others who live this same divine, succulent, lovely, and sane vitality. I celebrate grace, ease, and gratitude as I sing the body electric and I dance the Song of Songs.

From the morning's dew till the night's slumber gongs, Spirit guides me to my best.

What Are You Looking At?

Photo by Tachina Lee at Unsplash

Last week we talked about where it is best to look from. The Divine Matrix is the synergetic alchemy of using the head, heart, and gut-brain systems to use Divine Intelligence, our feelings, and Divine Wisdom and inspiration to reveal, transcend, and achieve in life.

Today, I want to talk about what we are looking at? What are we observing? Are we looking at trouble - with a capital T, and that rhymes with P, which makes you a fool? Are we looking at limitations or infinite possibilities?

Spiritual growth is the act of letting go of any ideas, beliefs, and attachments that no longer serve us, like shoulda/woulda/coulda's, yeah-but's, and “I don't deserve it” junk thinking. When we are consistently focused on those kinds of ideas, we are not only not letting go of them, we are seeing everything through the lens or the perspective of that junk thinking.

New job interview? Thoughts surrounding you may be “they won't like me," or "I shoulda gotten that degree.”

New love relationship? Thoughts popping up could be “yeah, but something's gotta be wrong with him/her/they, it always is.”

New idea in your career, for the world, or creatively? Thoughts swirling in your head may include “Why bother, I never follow through.”

Those words and phrases are red flags about your belief system, your perspective on that activity, and what is getting in your way. So let's first look at letting go.

Forgiveness for errors, injustices, or debts

This is something that has gotta happen to allow space in the head and the energy you exude. Remember forgiving is not condoning. Forgiving is the release of those limiting ideas' hold on your perspective. When we practice radical forgiveness, we are awakening ourselves to our highest, most capable self. It emancipates us from discord, making room for a greater good to be expressed or received, for change to take place, and for healing.

Spiritual Law tells us that spiritual growth cannot take place until we are open to learning, till we awaken to catching Spirit’s ideas about what we need to let go, and allowing the removal of obstacles and impediments which fog our way of living. As we let go, so too will Spirit’s highest ideas then be able to reveal themselves more frequently and powerfully. We forgive and let go to create openness and spaciousness so the Universe can release into our consciousness the greater idea, the best perspective.

When we look from our Divine Matrix, and embrace Spirit’s highest ideas and let go of the untruths and release the Truth, we automatically make room for being lifted out of wrong tendencies, discord, and illness.

Our job is to ask Spirit what needs to be revealed to us and our work is to be still, listen to the voice within, and follow its guidance.

Can we successfully release and let go of beliefs, ideas, and limitations without embracing their replacement? While we may see what to let go of and sometimes dig into it a bit for clarity, what we want to look at is the replacement of that belief.

Where your attention goes, energy flows, and manifestation then follows.

When we:

1)  Put our conscious attention on asking for Spirit’s highest vision of what needs to be let go;

2)  Keep our attention on this question long enough to receive the visionary insight on what needs to be allowed in and what we must awaken to; we then

3)  Manifest our vision by committing to embrace the conscious and creative stages, in mind and action, of this intuited information.

When your attention goes to the possibilities, your energy flows from the intuited Divine nature, and your manifestations then come pure and clean.

Ignorance stays with us until the day of enlightenment, until our vision toward the Spirit broadens and casts out the image of a no longer useful littleness…. The will should hold it in place until the creative genius of the inner life transforms the image of limitation and transmutes it into liberty under law.   ~Ernest Holmes

Are you looking at the possibilities or the limitations?

Have you heard of Bethany Hamilton's story? At the age of 13 as a rising surf star, Bethany lost her left arm to a 14-foot tiger shark, seemingly ending her dream career. However, through a foundation of faith, determination, and passion, one month after the attack, Bethany returned to surfing and within two years had won her first national title. At 17 years old, she realized her dream of surfing professionally and is an active surf competitor to this day, currently competing in the World Surf League tour events and other special events. In 2016, Bethany beat a six-time world champion and the top-ranked surfer in the world. In 2017, she was inducted into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame.

Bethany sees her passion for surfing as a gift from God and is what compelled her to go back to the sport against all odds. She is constantly re-writing the supposed rules of logic, what's possible, and living her greatest life. Her story is dramatized in the movie ”Soul Surfer” based on her book of the same title, and her perspective of the incident is shown in the docs “Heart of Soul Surfer,” and “Unstoppable” along with her many other books like “Be Unstoppable” and the children's tale, “Unstoppable Me.” Bethany reminds us:  I don't need easy, I just need possible.

While it is not always easy to let go of our troubles or give up the things we resent and regret, when we connect what we are looking through with what we are looking at, we listen to Spirit’s highest ideas on what needs to be released and forgiven. And we:

  • Live to be present
  • Look for things to be grateful for each day
  • Set boundaries to protect the important things
  • Say no to the excess stuff or doing too much
  • Aim to use time wisely to include sweet moments and see a world of possibilities.
  • It's our daily choices that determine our outcomes.

With repetition, we’ll catch more insights and habitually expand our vision/mission/purpose. There’s a spiritual solution to every problem/condition. Stress, illness, or trauma might crack us, but it doesn't have to end us.

There is an ancient Japanese art called Kintsugi or golden joinery. It is a technique using a lacquered or resin-based gold dust for repairing broken pottery with seams of gold.  We can use a spiritual version of this practice through our Divine Matrix to repair any damage.

Are you looking at old stories or creating new ones?

Are you having a vision or dream that just floats around or are you envisioning and embodying it in the Divine Matrix?

Here is a process to see what shame and/or regret you may have that is fogging up everything you are looking at in mind and body, family and love relationships, community, friends, money and work, and in your connection to Higher Self and Source. Each piece of shame and regret story has 4 steps:

  1. Summary of the shame and/or regret story
  2. When did it happen (beginning and ending time)
  3. Where did it happen
  4. What were the deeper consequences of what you did and how did this affect your relationship with yourself and your life now? This step is the one to dig deep into.

When you have finished writing down (best with pen and paper) your Shame and Regret list, keep it safe from anyone else except a trusted friend, counselor, therapist, spiritual practitioner, or spiritual leader to who you will later read this. When you do choose the one person you will share the list with, please remind yourself to not allow any justifications to arise and to not solicit or allow any judgment, good or bad from the one you are reading this to. This process is only about communication with a trusted other and the openness to let it go. The release comes through the non-judged venting, to get it out of our heads both as a story and the energy it carried. When we have our ethics and integrity 'squeaky clean, we open up to receiving in a huge way and step into living our life large and free and powerful!

Declare what your new story is NOW.

When you look around you, what are you looking at?

  • Are you looking at agitation or serenity? What you expect, you'll receive.
  • Are you looking at a “woe is me” life or a “wow is me” life? Living life with wonderment and creativity is remembering that the power of You is essential no matter your age.
  • Are you looking at the reflection of a victim or victor? The pain of any sort of trauma is not necessarily eliminated in this work, it is neutralized and replaced. To release and let go is to neutralize the pain from the old event and its hold on your perspective of life.
  • Are you looking at practicalities or possibilities? Living with an attitude of being practical may feel safe, but understanding the infinite possibilities the Universe has available will expand your outlook, opportunities, success, and happiness.

Remove “impossible” from your vocabulary. The art of the possible tells us that we take our options and make the best of them. And our options are limited only by how we look at things. So become a wiser, stronger, more evolved human being by filling your cup / your mind with what you want to attract. Focus on that, not the old stories.

Then what are you looking at is...

a joyous, rich, succulent, fun, loving, peaceful, happy, and vibrant life.

Affirmative Incantation:

I release.

I let go.

And I let the Divine in me inform, inspire, regulate and interpret all my dreams and desires.

Through the eye of any storm, I stand steady and nimble like the olive tree, in the zone of awakened awareness, and with Spirit-empowered readiness to take on all that steps into my life with ease and grace. My intellect, compassion, and instincts are handy and ripe with the smartest and most loving choices...the best choices for this day.

In this moment, and the next ones hereafter, I rise to my highest Self, confident of my fitness, goodwill, and willingness to be in my prime, vibrating at the speed of the Divine.

Resistance is Futile

Our theme for January was "Love It."  February brought us:

  • Black History Month and part of the Season of Non-Violence
  • Groundhog Day, Tater Tot, and Ukelele Day is also in February
  • So is Washington, Lincoln, Bob Marley, and Frederick Douglass' Birthdays
  • The Periodic Table has a day in February and so does doggy bones and toothaches
  • The Chinese New Year was on the 12th – of the Ox
  • The Jewish holiday, Purim was on the 26th, commemorating the victory of Queen Esther of Persia in saving the Jewish people from execution by Haman, the advisor to the king
  • And Lent began on the 17th, reminding Christians of Yeshua's 40-day sacrifice in the desert

Lives to remember, foods to enjoy, events to commemorate, rituals in which to partake, ideas to contemplate, and of course, love to celebrate - so much in 28 days. But all of that is man-made. I say so not to lessen its significance, but to show its exquisiteness and uniqueness. A uniqueness only possible through the loving expression of God.

In going within, we do not turn to our own spirituality or our own goodness or our own strength or our own knowledge; but we go within to unleash the Infinite Invisible.  ~Joel S. Goldsmith, The Art of Meditation

We are individuations of the One Universal Power & Presence and we each act in this Oneness to unleash that Infinite Invisible from within. We don't have to spend days in the desert or atop a mountain or live in a cave. Each is their own mystics able to live the mystical experience by letting God be God in them and as them.

You are Divine now...it is your birthright. Your uniqueness, talents, and dreams are all waiting for you to WAKE UP and accept your divinity! It is only our resistance to this Truth that gets in our way. When we resist, we strive against or oppose something, the polar opposite of working a resolution. Changing things in our life begins with not wanting to experience this or that anymore; to set up a barrier to reliving that idea. But that is where resistance should quickly end.

One of the most notorious creatures from the Star Trek universe is the Borg. In the 1990 third-season finale of The Next Generation series, the evil Borg sent an audio message to those whom their collective would absorb (imagine ominous robotic voice):  “We are the Borg. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.”

“Wow,” you may think, “Rev. Jay is comparing our Oneness and connection to Spirit to the Borg?” In a way, yes. I don't claim we are all some sort of spiritual cyborgs roaming the earth. But take away your biology and technology and what is left? ...your etiology – your causation and origination ... your most basic self - your Godness!

We are in a collective of sorts, not evil like the Borg, but one that is available through the conscious activity of embodying Spirit; a complete emancipation from discord that no one can truly take away without our permission.

On July 9, 1868, the 14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified. Garrett Epps, Professor of constitutional law at the University of Baltimore, wrote this about the 14th amendment:

Its centerpiece is the idea that citizenship in the United States is universal—that we are one nation, with one class of citizens, and that citizenship extends to everyone born here. Citizens have rights that neither the federal government nor any state can revoke at will; even undocumented immigrants—"persons", in the language of the amendment—have rights to due process and equal protection of the law.

Yet, the road to freedom does not truly lay in amendments to a constitution or any set of man-made laws again, not to lessen the efforts of Federick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Thaddeus Stephens, and other abolitionists or 13th/14th amendment proponents. However, freedom must be made first in the minds and hearts of those whose values and beliefs equaled that pronouncement. It may have started as a resistance to hate, inequality, and unjust actions and ideas, but accepting it first -remember this is not about permission- acceptance allows us to transform those ideas from the resistance of the negative into working for something that is positive and a part of Nature's Laws. Before emancipation could be a fact in the United States, the Truth of our equality and Oneness within the creations of the Universe had to be recognized and accepted to set man free. In other words, our minds had to echo through our communion with the eternal Thing Itself.

The sooner we awaken to Truth and live it holistically, and not just in our heads, the sooner we shall become factually free & happy, no matter the conditions we experience or the laws or amendments to any constitution. Viktor E. Frankl, Austrian neurologist, psychiatrist, philosopher, and Holocaust survivor - founder of logotherapy, a search for a life meaning as the central human motivational force - wrote:

The one thing you can’t take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me. The last of one’s freedoms is to choose one’s attitude in any given circumstance. ...Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Yes, we are obligated to enact laws to codify our understanding of Truth. God does not condone enslaving or mistreating anyone and we cannot be free in our spirit nor free in our mind when we withhold human liberty from another; neither can we be truly free when we kill, maim, cage, strike, spit upon, tear gas or shoot another. We can only be completely free when we respect and honor all of life. Those not participating in the Divine collective of Oneness, peace, and Universal love are bound to suffer the consequences of having a void in their heart filled with more hate, fear, shame helplessness, powerlessness, injustice, and inadequacy....all learned feelings one decides to embrace.

But when you fill that void, no matter the size, with Spirit, you gain a foundation to build upon. You step into a world where kinship with all life connects and prospers in you, guides you with spiritual wisdom...a world that will show up without police brutality, white privilege, or any cultural beliefs of superiority and its inherent arrogance and delusions

I am not telling you to bypass what may be lurking inside - confusing you, irritating you. The resolution, however, must begin with who you are. Looking for approval outside of yourself is futile - it will never fill any void. Remember you are worthy NOW and you're pre-approved for your highest good now, as well.

Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.  ~Teilhard de Chardin

Are there areas of joy in your life that could support you in remembering that God is always everywhere equally present?

Find them...Nurture them.

Incorporate them where the joy isn't as strong

It’s foolish and futile, to dedicate your time and attention to resisting what you don’t want. Reapply your energy toward what you do want and plan a prudent spiritual practice, then a wise practical course of action. When we choose to love the awakening to our highest self, we ease the effects of the negative and ease the inclusion of the positive, and we reveal the wisdom of the ages and disclose the best we have to offer to the world and beyond. Believing and loving who you are is a powerful antidote for lack and limitation, depression and distress, dis-harmony and dis-ease.
