STAMP IT CONFIRMED

All month we talked about authenticating IT -  God, the Divine, the Power and Presence Within. It's what we are awakening ourselves to all year.

We started off talking about that there is no secret being kept from any of us about the Universe or how the Law works.  You may not have been taught this philosophy, but the Universe isn't keeping information on how IT works for members only. The secret is there is no secret! There are only tools to be discovered that enhance what you naturally know, even if you don't know that you know. Don't get sucked into the clickbait titles or descriptions claiming a big secret is being revealed for the first time b.s. And don't begin your day, week, month, or year pining on thinking you're starting in a deficit. That is not a good way to set yourself up to learning.

I also reminded you this month to look around, use your senses as proof of the existence and the workings of divine intention, grace, power, and wisdom. We can learn most if not all we need to learn from Mother Nature.

And last week, I asked you to decide which do you prefer, or which do you work your innermost education transformation and transcendence through....nature or nurture? Actually, there was no choosing...it was both

This week I want to stamp this month of Authentication...CONFIRMED. Not only confirming that:

  • The Power of Presence of Universal Creative Energy is working within you right now
  • The knowledge to succeed and prosper is innate and discover-able through our senses
  • We don't have to go to the top of the mountain or the bottom of the sea to discover God and our Godness
  • Nurturing our True nature leads us to manifestations of health, wealth, love, and peace.
This week we confirm our authentic selves. We stamp our passports to self-definition and self-determination. We stamp our decree of being an expression of the divine. And we attest, verify, and certify as Michael Singer said in “The Untethered Soul”:

The prerequisite to true freedom is to decide that you do not want to suffer anymore. You must decide that you want to enjoy your life and that there is no reason for stress, inner pain, or fear.

How often do you show up authentically?

We are to see that Spirit creates all things by the power of Its own word, and that we are spiritual beings. We are to hear that inner voice of Truth, which is ever proclaiming the freedom of all life, the eternal unity of God with [all].  ~Ernest Holmes

No matter your profession, who you love, how you pray, where you live, how much formal education you have, how much money you have, what gender you identify with, how old you are, etc., you weren’t born to fit in....you were born to stand out.

God makes no mistakes - people do. And yet mistakes are a great teaching tool if you let them be. Regardless of what anyone says, your unique gifts have a purpose and individually it's our responsibility to be our authentic selves, to live and express that purpose. That might be annoying or unappetizing to some, but the more we express ourselves authentically, the more we inspire others to do the same, even if they find us annoying

Unconditional love and acceptance for others who are expressing themselves authentically doesn't mean we have to hang out with them, vote for them, or like them. Appreciating one's authenticity and that of others brings spiritual maturity into play and practice, and emotional maturity into life.

As the inner light dawns, it delivers the outer life from bondage. This is in line with the teaching that everything is from within, out. When the soul knows freedom, the law will free the body, and the outer life will express health, happiness and success. All things work for our good. Even that which we call evil is salutary, leading us to the Way, the Truth and the Life. Suffering should teach us a lesson which would cause us to refrain from making more mistakes; it carries a blessing with it when we learn how to garner knowledge from experience.  ~Science of Mind

If you were living a life of freedom, how would your life look?

Don't be depressed about the answer because it seems like a wish unfulfilled. Be encouraged, impassioned, inspired, motivated, and awakened by the answer as the first step to fulfillment. That is your authentic self calling....answer the call - your soul's desire is ringing.

Say this with me right now:

I consciously and confidently live as my authentic self.
Solid in self-respect and joy.
Firm in my respect and kindness to others.
Centered, grounded, and stable in my connection to Nature and Spirit.
And bold and brave in my self-expression.

Don't be what the world wants you to be. Find and be the definition of your authentic self. It's never too late. Look at these two womyn:

Julia Child

...worked in advertising, media, and secret intelligence before stepping into her passionate self and writing her first cookbook when she was 50, launching her career as a celebrity chef.

Martha Stewart

...a full-time model, then a 25-year-old mother before working a five-year stint as a Wall Street stockbroker; then finding her true purpose through her love of gourmet cooking and creative presentation to create the empire, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

How about these two:

...was a figure skater and journalist before entering the fashion industry at age 40 and became one of the world's premier women's designers.

...Anna Mary Robertson Moses began her prolific painting career at 78. In 2006, one of her paintings sold for $1.2 million. Previously, she was a housekeeper and farm laborer.

And finally these two/three people:

Taikichiro Moris...was an academic
who became a real-estate investor
at age 51, which made him
the richest person in the world in
1992, worth $13B.

Tim and Nina Zagat...were corporate
lawyers in their late 30s when they
turned their personal, passionate list
of favorite restaurants in Paris and
New York into a published collection
of restaurant reviews which eventually
became a mark of culinary authority.

So what hidden or not so hidden passion is waiting for your authenticity to emerge?

You know I know you know, even if you say you don't....you do. We all get caught up in the box of our degrees, our jobs, what the family expected, what we expected, and even the word “retiree.” So now is the time to commit to showing up -authentically- and choose to live the life we’ve always dreamed of.

A bonus to all this is that doing so in your life also inspires others to follow. By you being an example of unconditional love & acceptance of a life of Spirit expressing Itself as you, that makes for a better world of unity, peace, love, and joy. And that authenticates the Divine in us all!

Stamp your authentic life confirmed and fly my friends, fly!

Let's Have A Little Treat

Have a little faith in me...

The Universe is singing that to all of us. I know it's telling me that about some things. Lately, I've been studying the history and usage of prayer for my Doctorate dissertation. This has inspired today's talk title:  Let's Have A Treat.

Some of you may have taken my workshop of the same name and will recognize what I am talking about. However, if your declarations haven't demonstrated like you thought...or better, take this as a needed review...I am.

By "treat," I mean both the idea of a goody and this definition of Spiritual Mind Treatment from Ernest Holmes:

The art and act, time and process, and method and science of consciously changing and inducing thought within our subconscious belief system for the purpose of demonstrating a new idea into our experience.

You might have heard me or others make a call to “treat.”  Spiritual mind treatment is what that is calling; to pray by realigning our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to the ideas we express in our Statements of Principles:

Reveal the Divinity in You
Vibrate at the Speed of the Divine
Bust Through, Soar, and Zoom into the greatest expression of your life

...which is the fulfillment of love, health, creativity, and prosperity in all the spaces, all the times, all the nooks and crannies of your life. Dr. Holmes continues in his definition of treatment:

We are surrounded by a Creative Medium which responds to us through a law of correspondence. Treatment is clearing the thought of negation, of doubt and fear, and causing it to perceive the ever-presence of God.

What we perceive, we become aware of. What we are aware of, we can awaken to. And as we awaken, we can embody this perception in all we think, feel, and do.

Our minds are full of clutter:

  • the clutter of memories, good and not so good
  • the clutter of opinions and judgments, wise and not so wise
  • the clutter and noise of lies, and decisions, both traumatic and disturbing, and the biases we have accepted which are usually not so good

All of these clutters and biases get in the way!

  • They get in the way of the new, shiny trinket you're eyeing.
  • They get in the way of re-igniting your relationship or having any love in your life.
  • They get in the way of a bigger audience.
  • They get in the way of (fill in the blank).

But these clutters and biases are not signs of a lost battle. They are not powered by evil. And they are not the result of being left alone to our own devices by the Universe with no potential or no tools or the any influence to change. On the contrary:

You have been left alone to discover your real nature, that as an individual you may consciously unite with the Law of Life and the Presence of Good…Just keep right on knocking at the doorway of your consciousness until every ‘no’ becomes a ‘yes’, every negation an affirmation, every fear a faith. You cannot fail if you remain steadfast. Finally, the fetters of bondage will drop from you. You will walk out of your self-imposed prison only to discover that the door was never really locked and the windows were not actually barred. You were bound merely by chains of unbelief.
~This Thing Called You

So how do we get out of those chains of unbelief? Patricia Diane Cota-Robles wrote in, “Raising Consciousness: The Shift from Separation to Oneness”:

Trying to change physical conditions without changing my consciousness is like trying to change the reflection in a mirror without changing the object causing the reflection.

We change our consciousness...we change the reflection we are giving. We treat...the...mind and thus the subconscious, and thus the belief system. Having a treat has specific purposes. Treatment unclogs and frees your mind. It's the roto-rooter[1] of mental clarity and spiritual maturity:

  • Instead of removing tree roots and other debris the roto-rooter technician does, it eliminates the b.s. out of your Belief system
  • Instead of cleaning your drain, it cleans your brain
  • Instead of snaking your pipes and other plumbing gripes, it snakes through your mental aches and pains to leave you wide awake

It is said that people are attracted to this teaching and form of prayer with the hope of manifesting conditions and stuff in our material lives. Well, lose the hope - it has little to nothing to do with it. Affirmative prayer or spiritual mind treatment is actually for the purpose of freeing us from our own limited ideas and beliefs...not to just get stuff. Treatment provides a pause to remember who we are and commune with our own consciousness.

Let there be an opening into the quiet that lies beneath the chaos, where you find the peace you did not think possible and see what shimmers within the storm.  ~John O’Donahue, Rebel Thriver, “To Bless the Space Between Us

So first, recognize that God is the All of all!

You don't have to call It God - call it IT - God doesn't care what you call it! Just recognize the energy and frequency of all creation is here, right now - the Bahagavan, the qi, the life force.

Then unify yourself with that Power (whatever you're going to call it).

You and that Power are One already, you might as well give in to that truth. It acts through you, as you, in you, and in all life - so, revel in it...it's not going away.

Thirdly, accept and affirm that what you are declaring and revealing in this treatment is happening right now.

Confirm it with clarity and specificity. Since you've already established and known that you are part of that Big Universal Power thing, you can speak your word without doubt or reservation that the good you desire to experience is now taking form. When you decide to have a treat, your awareness shifts; you become aware of what is actually true and use this process to substitute what was happening in your mind to what you believe now. We focus on the feelings and senses of having this idea or thing in our life. Prayer frees us from the wrong thinking/ideas of the past. Remember, the Universe has your back so you know your desire is complete as you speak it.

Next, have appreciation and gratitude for this acceptance.

Having clearly stated and affirmed what you want to experience, it's time to do what you always do when you have accepted a treat - give thanks. The good you desire is yours right now. So, accept it and give thanks for this good right here and now.

Finally, release the words, the thoughts, the feelings, the acceptance, and affirm your good as already accomplished.

When you release your prayer to the activity of the Universal Law of Mind, you can completely free yourself of any concern. “I let go and let God. I release this truth in total belief that it is done.”

When we use this incredible tool to treat our minds, freeing us and being led into the freedom that is our birthright, we can break the “chains of unbelief, disbelief, and disapproving logic. Disapproving logic is that monkey mind that says some version of “no” or “impossible.” It most probably will rear its doubting-Thomas- head when a new idea shows up - you just gotta tell it to "shut up." And keep saying so till you mean it and this doubting-Thomas thing lets up.

Get tough, get clear, get connected, and get manifesting!

Come on....let's have a treat!!

Affirmative Incantation

I allow Spirit to overflow me with the Divine Truth.

Thus I am propelled by the Power and Presence of this Truth to free my Mind and receive Its wisdom and reveal Its best ideas.

Today I consciously use this wisdom and these wonderful ideas for the following definite purpose: (reveal your goal for today).

I know my Mind is an outlet through which the Creative Intelligence of the Universe seeks fulfillment.

And so every thought and feeling I have, and any actions I take today, comes through a deep inner perception and the application of my Divine power, and the conviction to my stated goal.

Today I shall be fulfilled and, so too, the Creative Intelligence of the Universe shall be fulfilled.

I am a success!

LOOK AROUND

"I think, therefore I am....Cogito, ergo sum," said René Descartes.

"I AM THAT I AM," spoke the Burning Bush to Moses

Both are authentications of the Divine Presence.

Our thinking, thoughts, consciousness are paramount in manifestation, perception, and our connection to the Universal, but is it the only way to authenticate the Divine?

my mind is

a big hunk of irrevocable nothing which touch and

taste and smell and hearing and sight keep hitting and

chipping with sharp fatal tools

in an agony of sensual chisels i perform squirms of

chrome and execute strides of cobalt

nevertheless i

feel that i cleverly am being altered that i slightly am

becoming something a little different, in fact

myself

Hereupon helpless i utter lilac shrieks and scarlet

bellowings.       ~ e. e. cummings, Portraits VII

What do you feel when you see hear, touch, smell, taste something so fantastic your whole life seems to make sense? It brings words to mind you never thought you had, descriptions and adjectives you’ve never used, memories you had long misplaced? There's a book I love called “A Natural History of the Senses” by Diane Ackerman. She is quite the prolific author of two dozen highly-acclaimed works of poetry and nonfiction, many New York Times bestsellers, The Zookeeper's Wife (a 2017 movie starring Jessica Chastain), and a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for "One Hundred Names for Love." Ackerman is the epitome of curiosity and imagination. Her thrilling observations urge us to live in the moment and to wake up to nature's everyday miracles and her work is addictive. Today I'm using some of her quotes and readings to authenticate the Divine in all – our June theme.

In a mere ounce of air, there are 1,00 billion trillion gyrating atoms made up of oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen, each a menagerie of electrons, quarks, and ghostly neutrinos. ... Sometimes we marvel at how “calm” the day is, or how “still” the night. Yet there is no stillness in the sky, or anywhere else where life and matter meet. They are always vibrant and aglow, full of volatile gases, staggering spores, dust, viruses, fungi, and animals, all stirred by a swirling and relentless wind.   ~"Vision" chapter

When you look at the stars, the moon, the expansiveness of the sky / the universe, a flower, a child, your loved one, or a sweet treat, you may stare in amazement of its power and beauty – your emotions soar, yes?You may think, “A higher intelligence must be present!”

Each of us are a unique beholder of creation, an authenticator of a design that is both super natural and metaphysical beyond our present comprehension, even though science and scientific theory attempts to explain it all.

When you look in a mirror, you will see the face of a predator; not to capture or eat other animals though that ability is there as well, but to gather light, pick out important  images, focus on novel sites, and pinpoint them in space and time to follow them, we have the ability to be a walking stereoscopic binocular

What we see are prey, not in order to feed our bellies, but our minds, that's the power of our sense of vision. If that is not from a Divine intelligence, I don't know what is. Helen Keller wrote:

Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousands of miles and all the years you have lived. The odors of fruits waft me to my southern home, to my childhood frolics in the peach orchard. Other odors, instantaneous and fleeting, cause my heart to dilate joyously or contract with remembered grief. Even as I think of smells, my nose is full of scents that start and awake sweet memories of summers gone and ripening fields far away.

In 2014, researchers in a Science magazine article concluded that the human nose can distinguish at least 1 trillion different odors, way beyond the previous estimate of 10,000. Whether it's your favorite fruit pie or flower, fresh cut grass, sea or mountain air, or the pheromones of your mate; a human nose has around 400 scent receptors. For example, when the smell of coffee wafts through a room, specific receptors in the nose detect molecular components of the odor. That elicits a series of neural responses, translating into inward or outward cry's like “Thank God” or “Where is it?”. Or it engages the action of the salivary glands and creates a GPS-like hunt for its location. Smell brings out both the imaginary and the memorial in the brain. It can act as an informant of a person's profession or hobby, habits or previous locale; and with food – the sense of taste attaches itself. Rev. Kelly Isola, a Unity minister, wrote some tips for increasing your spiritual sense of smell. Here's two:

  • When you connect with God's presence, what scents or fragrances come to mind?
  • With every deep breath in today, let it be a reminder of being more open and alive, to knowing God as real, authentic, and attentive

If the sense of smell is not from a Divine intelligence, I don't know what is.

If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.  ~Nikola Tesla

What happens when you hear Mozart or Miles Davis, Dolly Parton or Dean Martin, Bach or the Beatles (depending on your taste). How about a baby laughing, a light rain at your window, a crackling fire, the sigh of your lover, or the purr of your cat? For me, a Debussy composition delights all of my senses - when I hear them, I feel enlightened, open and ready for expansion and transformation. The sounds of nature, both pleasant and not, are a symphony of proof that Spirit wants to be heard; in all the languages for all Its creation - animal, mineral, vegetable, aviary, reptile, mammal, and plants...yes, even plants.

Using highly expensive and sensitive acoustic sensors, similar to the ones use to detect cracks in bridges, researchers are able to catch the ultrasonic blips and pops of a plant. They may not sing like the one in “Little Shop of Horrors,” but it has been proven that their vibrations are a language to each other and the insects that feed upon them

The Universe's sound, translates closely to the "Aum" chant you may hear at an Ashram or the beginnings of a Yoga class. Though we cannot truly create the sound of the universe by a chanting; we can produce a vibration sympathetic with the electro-magnetic ones of the cosmic hum. Listen to this:

If sound is not from a Divine intelligence, I don't know what is

Touch, by clarifying and adding to the shorthand of the eyes, teaches us that we live in a three-dimensional world.   ~”Touch”

When we touch silk, velvet, grass, or each other, we can miraculously heal hurt, ease pain, save premmie infants, and change the circumstances of health and well-being. Touch informs, touch educates, and touch loves. Touch is not only by skin, but what we do when we pray or commune with the power and presence of the Universe.

If touch is not from a Divine intelligence, I don't know what is.

More from Diane Ackerman:

A creamy blur of succulent blue sound smells like week-old strawberries dropped onto a tin sieve as mother approaches in a halo of color chatter, and a perfume like thick golden butterscotch.

Isn't that beautiful? All of that is a description of Nature saying “hi...” in the synesthesia of life. Only 2 - 4% of people have the neurological condition called synesthesia in which information meant to stimulate one of your senses stimulates several of your senses, but in many ways, all of us are synesthetes.

Sacred rituals use the senses to connect to their very being and essence. The Torah (Exodus 20:18) describes the Hebrews gathering to receive the scrolls with Moses at Mt. Sinai to hear visions and see the voice of God. Dr. William Bushell of MIT's Department of Anthropology and Columbia University's American Institute of Buddhist Studies tells us, "In fact, synesthesia may not only be associated with the highest spiritual states, it may be necessary for them."

Dr. Eben Alexander wrote in "Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey Into the Afterlife" about the blending of his senses during his near-death experience in a 2008 coma when he wrote, “Seeing and hearing were not separate in this place where I now was ...I could see the surging, joyful perfection of what they sang.” After months of analysis and discussion with other scientists about his experience, Eban Alexander concluded, “It is crucial to remember that my ultra-real experience deep in coma, in the realms of the Gateway and the Core that I describe in my book, did not happen in my brain, or in the physical universe, but they really happened in a more fundamental reality – the dwelling-place of Divine consciousness, spirit and soul.”

What more proof do you need to authenticate the Divine in all and through all? Just use your senses. Stay aware and awake, and allow your senses to inform you, inspire you. All you gotta do is look around

The Greatest Secret Is There Is No Secret

photo by Kristina Flour on unsplash.com

I'm sick of all the insincere...

This time

Don't need another perfect lie

Don't care if critics ever jump in line

I'm gonna give all my secrets away

~Ryan Tedder, lead vocalist – One Republic

The greatest secret of them all is there is no secret:

...there is no secret way to manifest

...there is no secret way to stay healthy

...there is no secret to healthy relationships

...there is no secret to any of that or more

There is no secret because, by definition, nothing is being kept from you. And it's not just because there are books to read for these tools and ideas, the best teachers are out there to teach you these tools and ideas, or even because the internet has these tools and ideas readily available to search for. Your mindfulness, imagination, curiosity, open-heartedness, sense of wonder, and being present is all the education you require.

Your senses are your teacher. Your willingness to explore is your teacher. The power and presence that is innate in you is your teacher. No one and no thing is keeping a secret from you.

Exploration isn't just about hiking the Andes, diving into the Mariana Trench, or experimenting with hallucinogens. Exploration is living with eyes wide open. Exploration is having your heart and brain awake. Exploration is hearing, listening, and comprehending. Exploration is allowing, connecting, and receiving inspiration, information, and motivation.

All of that is already a part of you. All of that is given to you at birth, even if some biology of the senses are not working like others, another takes over with added sensitivity...it's not a secret.

There is no need for a dark night of the soul to have a breakthrough. You are not more deserving of enlightenment if you have:

...felt isolated from any or everything and abandoned by God or the Universe

...felt lost and confused about your direction

...felt despair and horror with what's going on in the world

...felt a sense of overwhelming dread or deep tiredness in your bones

...felt your motivation shot to hell and a loss of interest in most things

Keep pondering your purpose or who you are and feel like you don’t belong on this planet or trauma, sadness, hurt, etc.

You also don't have to go through:

  • Unhappiness, despondency, and feeling loss...then
  • Shifting perspectives...then
  • Seeking answers and meaning...then
  • Finding answers and experiencing breakthroughs...then
  • Disillusionment and feeling lost again...then
  • Deeper inner work...before
  • Integration, expansion, and joy shows up in your life

I'm not saying it is wrong to go through those things; the point is...you don't have to.

Believing there's some secret(s) that is kept from us that we have to seek out “or else,” puts us in a lack/victim mode. Why start there?!? - behind, catching up or even middle there or end there?

I didn't have to have kidney stones to tap into some anger that was lurking in me, except that I wasn't open to learning and dealing with it without the 4-day pain event - evidently. But there was no secret kept from me. I didn't have to go through the whole pre-divorce marriage junk events to see the red flags, I chose to ignore them. Some reasons for that were noble and some were because of wearing a blindfold, but there was no secret kept from me.

We should start in the empowered mode, and expand from there. We don't need to go through a long process to authenticate the Divine in us. Authentication is not just about proof, but about acknowledgment, awakening and allowing, knowing and believing, and sitting in a pool of faith. There's no hypothesis that has to be proved unless you're starting in disbelief. There's no empirical evidence that you have to generate to answer the big questions; your wonderment, curiosity, imagination, and insight generate those answers.

Oh, I could give you tricks and hacks, reminders, and philosophy. And I do – every week. I could quote you to an inspired frenzy, motivate, lead, and teach you ideas and tools. And I do – every week. But it isn't a secret. You don't have to belong to a club or society, there's no dues required or fees involved, not even a book you must read or guru you must follow ...except me :)

There is no great and no small

To the Soul that maketh all:

And where it cometh, all things are

And it cometh everywhere.

I am owner of the sphere,

Of the seven stars and the solar year,

Of Caesar's hand, and Plato's brain,

Of [Yeshua's] heart, and Shakespeare's strain.

There is one mind common to all [individuals]. Every[one] is an inlet to the same and to all of the same. [One] that is once admitted to the right of reason is made [free] of the whole estate. What Plato has thought, [you] may think; what a saint has felt, [you] may feel; what at any time has befallen any[one], [all] can understand. Who hath access to this universal mind is a party to all that is or can be done, for this is the only and sovereign agent.   ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

We see multiplicity and we experience multiplicity, but the Truth is there is One Mind. And we are a sovereign agent of that One Mind. Because of that, we have access to the Universal Mind and all its information, wisdom, and infinite possibilities.

And if there is one mind, there is no secret to hold...no secret to be had. There is only education, enlightenment, and awakening, and we authenticate that by living it.

The doctrine of identity can claim that it is clinched by the empirical fact that
consciousness is never experienced in the plural, only in the singular. Not only has none of us ever experienced more than one consciousness, but there is also no trace of circumstantial evidence of this ever happening anywhere in the world.
~Erwin Schroedinger, Nobel Prize-winning physicist and noted expert in quantum theory, statistical and electro mechanics, colour theory, thermodynamics,  general relativity, and cosmology – considered one of the fathers of quantum mechanics

We are going to discuss some quantum mechanics later this month. Till then, let us remember the greatest secret of them all is that there is no secret. There is only learning, remembering, awakening, and allowing.

You have already been stamped - certified

you are confirmed

you have been given full access

you are endorsed, validated, licensed, approved, and ratified.

you are the sovereign agent of all information, everywhere.

All you have to do is put the authentic You into practice!

Affirmative Incantation

I attest that Spirit empowers me to be my authenticate self

I attest to the freedom of choice that I always have to embody the best ideas.

I attest that any pain in my life is merely the compost to my next triumph.

I attest that I don't strive, I thrive

I attest to the Truth of my Being:

I am a bold, brave, succulent spiritual being having a vibrant, successful, and loving human experience.

And I go through anything and everything with that idea always supporting and guiding me.

TURN IT ON

Jono at Unsplash.com

It is said:  "Necessity...is the mother of invention.” Do you think that's true? Is it "necessity"?

No matter your gender, your organs, or your relation to children...you are a mother. You may not be called that, or maybe you have; I'm sure I have once or twice. And you have an invention...it's your life.

"Necessity is the mother of invention." I'm not talking about urgency, although you may feel urgent. I'm not talking about difficulty, although you may be in difficulty. I'm not talking about hardships either, though you may have some. The mother of invention I'm talking about is your primary driving force for your life. Not just a need or requirement...your purpose. Aesop wrote a fable called THE CROW AND THE PITCHER. In it, he tells...

In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But the pitcher was high and had a narrow neck, and no matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach the water. The poor thing felt he might die of thirst.

Then an idea came to him. Picking up some small pebbles, he dropped them into the pitcher one by one. With each pebble, the water rose a little higher until at last, it was near enough so he could drink.

Moral:  In a pinch, good use of our wits may help us out.

Do we have to wait to be in a pinch or in urgency, difficulty, or hardship to turn on our wits? Know that it never takes adversary, difficulty, or hardship for you to turn It on. Know that it never has to come to you only after feeling stuck, useless, or "hitting bottom," to turn It on.

The power to create ...to mother a life of living your magnificence... is available right now. The power and process given to you from Spirit are available right now. That power and process are...

feeling and imagination.

That's what it takes to create the mental equivalent, to mother the idea and give it birth. The creative process embedded in each of us is the mother of invention.

The mechanism of creation is hidden in the very depth of the subconscious, the female aspect or womb of creation.   ~Neville Goddard

When you are able to imagine the event and feel the feelings of experiencing the event, then the event shows up or the actions you must take to facilitate the event are revealed to you.

Feeling is the one and only medium through which ideas are conveyed to the subconscious.  ~Neville Goddard

You want money to buy a plane ticket somewhere? Well, then why not just imagine and feel the result of that plane ticket, with your name on it, in your hand. Who needs the middleman called money. You're not imagining stealing the ticket or getting it nefariously somehow, so let the Universe figure out the means. You just know the end of the imagined story, the plane ticket to your next wonderful adventure in your pocket.

Your feelings create the pattern from which your world is fashioned, and a change of feeling is a change of pattern.  ~Neville Goddard

As you stick with this imagination and feeling practice for your desire, you mother the belief in your subconscious and thus send off clear instructions to the Law. Francis Scovel Shinn tells a related story in THE GAME OF LIFE AND HOW TO PLAY IT:

I knew a man who wanted to buy a fur-lined overcoat. He and his wife went to various shops, but there was none he wanted. He said they were all too cheap-looking. At last, he was shown one, the salesman said was valued at a thousand dollars, but which the manager would sell him for five-hundred dollars, as it was late in the season.

His financial possessions amounted to about seven hundred dollars. The reasoning mind would have said, “You can’t afford to spend nearly all you have on a coat,” but he was very intuitive and never reasoned.

He turned to his wife and said, “If I get this coat, I’ll make a ton of money!” So his wife consented, weakly.

About a month later, he received a ten-thousand-dollar commission. The coat made him feel so rich, it linked him with success and prosperity; without the coat, he would not have received the commission. It was an investment paying large dividends!

I'm not telling you to go out and spend beyond your financial abilities, nor am I condoning buying fur-lined clothing. It really wasn't about the coat itself. It was the feeling the coat gave him.

You have to Feel Rich to be Rich

...and I'm not just talking about money.

Assume the feeling that would be yours when you realized or revealed that which you desire. That impresses the subconscious and puts you and your mothering system in a state. Not just a state of mind, but a state of being, having, and living. Here are the two gateways into the subconscious:

1) SLEEP

One-third of our life is sleeping, it is a natural door into the subconscious. In the state of sleep, the conscious and subconscious meet - like lovers touching.

As you feel, so do you impress her; and she, the perfect lover, gives form to these impressions and out-pictures them as the children of her beloved.  ~Neville Goddard

Feeling a function produces that state. That's why I recommend you to state and feel the affirmative incantations twice a day. They are not merely affirmations, they are cleansings, 'rebootings,' motherings, ....'creatings.' They are an imagining of a story that builds, inspires, motivates, and impresses upon your subconscious and belief system.

Our volition or choice of reaction or response
Our decision on perspective and perception
Our turning on our connection to Spirit or not

are our truest of freedoms!

Not speech or assembly, but choice, decision, and flipping It on.

The second gateway is prayer. This is where you really turn IT on, connect to IT, and reveal IT on purpose. Prayer is not just the act of affirmative words to the Universe or using spiritual mind treatment or other modalities. Prayer is in the words you say in conversation, your self-talk or inner dialogue, the meditations you have, and the thoughts you bear and hold. When you assume and affirm the feeling,  declare the possession of that idea or thing, and reveal the Divine Power, Love, and Intelligence in you, through patience, persistence, allowing, listening, letting go and surrendering, and speaking your appreciative and grateful word…you are turning It on.

IT - that Divine in you

These are the processes going on in sleep and prayer:

  • Imagination is the key
  • Feeling is the secret weapon
  • Declaring is the gavel hitting the table
  • Connecting to the love and wisdom of the Universe is the power

You can do all the shadow work or other modalities to have unconditional self-acceptance, other-acceptance, and life-acceptance. You can

  1. Identify Irrational Thought Patterns and Beliefs
  2. Challenge Irrational Beliefs
  3. Gain Insight and Change Behavior

But without the commitment to Turn IT on with your mind and heart, and listening from your gut...your foundation is rocky; as in unstable, without a foundation.

Turn IT on...your connection to the Divine Mother in you.

Turn IT on...and watch your life change exponentially for good!

Cleaned Up, Now What?

I want to invoke a Wholly Holy Uprising

We stand poised, with the ability to use this teaching and other tools to take ourselves and all of humanity into a new paradigm of consciousness.
  • A paradigm of prosperity, happiness, health, and loving relationships
  • A model of miracles, aha moments, and infinite possibilities
  • A pattern of connection, communion, and joy
  • A habit of right thinking and Truth
  • A mirror of opulence and opportunities
We are invited every single day to demonstrate all of this and more in our lives, our communities, and the world.

To do so, we must rise up!

Like we rise up for social injustice, we must rise up to a consciousness of equality and unity – Oneness revealing the Divinity within.

Like we rise up to save our family and friends from dangerous conditions, we must rise up to a consciousness of protection, security, and peace.

Like we rise up to move away from addiction and depression, we must rise up to a consciousness of joy.

Like we rise up to move away from negative thinking, we must rise up to this consciousness that we are being supported by Divine Love and the Law of Cause and Effect at all times.

We need not place limits on Spirit, It has none.

Once we have the consciousness of what it is we require and as we align with the great power that created all, we avail ourselves to the infinite possibilities and give ourselves the permission (already granted by the Universe) to put our hands in the biggest cookie jar and pull out all the goodies we can grab – including peace and prosperity for all. Then we can increase the size of the bucket inside our minds knowing that God's bucket is the one we get to fill ours from.

With limitless prosperity available and ready to be served, our mental equivalent is the mirror to our external circumstances. Our inner life, our consciousness, is Truth-based and the experiences imagined, Earth-bound.

We have spent the month decluttering our minds and freeing our hearts and connecting with Divine wisdom from our gut's intuitions. Now it's time we allow it all to flow...getting into the flow of joy
of our communion with Spirit.

Imagine a garden hose that is attached to a water spigot. The spigot is Source. The water is turned on and is flowing. How much water comes out of the end of that garden hose depends on whether or not the hose is obstructed. The water is flowing fully and yet, at the other end of the hose, water may be dribbling out. Our spiritual work removes the obstructions in the garden hose to allow the full flow of water.

God is the water that's flowing. The degree to which we experience that flow which is the giving-ness of Spirit in our lives is determined by the degree to which we able that water to flow through unobstructed. Our work, our Word, is “unkinking the hose” so that Spirit can flow through fully.

We don’t need to do anything about the flow of water; that's spigot's on full already. Our job is to allow the water to flow through us.

Let's not be confused or deterred over the appearances we see, but don't want. Let's face the fear. Let's face the disappointment. Let's face the bag of cookies or the next cigarette or drink. Name the condition and then know the Truth of it...

...it's old news

...it's an old story

...it is yesterday's thoughts, opinion, perspective, or perception

The fact is, the energy you invest in knowing, using, and being the Truth -the spiritual practice you invest in speaking, embodying and illuminating the Truth, and the focusing of your mind and heart to the frequency of the Truth- the more yesterday's thoughts and beliefs become neutered, null, and void.
This happens not only in your life, but it also affects all of life.
In this interconnected universe, every improvement we make in our private world improves the world at large for everyone… Simple kindness to one’s self and all that lives is the most powerful transformational force of all.
~David R. Hawkins, Power vs. Force
According to Hawkins, who was a nationally renowned psychiatrist, physician, researcher, and spiritual teacher, and who calibrated human consciousness from its lowest “vibration” (shame) to its highest (enlightenment), higher consciousness radiates a beneficial and healing effect on the world. Using kinesthetic testing (muscle resistance to a word), Hawkins created a chart to explain, in detail, what the mystics have always known:  love is more powerful than hatred, and the truth sets us free.

The Truth is when you increase your integrity, understanding, and capacity for compassion, you also change the world.
In God-awareness, problems dissolve because there are no “real” problems; in the mind of God, there are only perfect patterns of existence and divine ideas. ~Michael Beckwith, Spiritual Liberation
So, you've been cleaning up all month, all year...now what? What perfect patterns are you creating? Ask yourself:

Are there any areas in my life where I am “playing small” or working patterns of lack?

What limiting beliefs can I let go of to expand my consciousness and fill that bigger bucket?

...our belief sets the limit to our demonstration of a Principle which, of itself, is without limit. It is ready to fill everything, because It is Infinite...It is entirely a question of our own receptivity.   ~Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind
When appearances suggest an absence of the Divine:
  1. start decluttering
  2. face these appearances with the courage and power that is innate in you
  3. neutralize them with conviction, purpose, spiritual practice, therapy, counseling, and/or coaching
  4. take action to lessen or remove these appearances' grip on your beliefs and life
I am not asking you to ignore or gloss over genuine issues in your life or the world at large and hide behind platitudes the bypass life until the storms pass. In times of social unrest and personal tragedy, apply the principles of this teaching and all the other philosophical and psychological tools there are to find what is yours to do.

I am invoking a Wholly Holy Uprising

Using the principles of Oneness, love, joy, and Truth, we allow any uncomfortable topics, situations, and stories to help us deepen our spiritual practices, grow our compassion, and take divinely inspired action to transcend, transform and inspire our best life!

So, cleaned up – now what?

Live an absolutely fabulous, opulent, and love-filled life

...that's what!

Affirmative Incantion

I have a big intelligence system: my mind

I have a big feeling system: my heart

I have a big wisdom system: my gut

This Divine Matrix is abundant with all the tools, ideas, feelings, imagination, and power I require to live my life fabulously. I have decluttered my world and exclusively energize thoughts of prosperity, vitality, and love. I am relishing this miracle called ME!

Letting Go of Yesterday

Every night I lie in bed

The brightest colours fill my head

A million dreams are keeping me awake

I think of what the world could be

A vision of the one I see

A million dreams is all it's gonna take

A million dreams for the world we're gonna make

~Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest Showman

I wanted to remind you of a few things about your yesterdays. This isn't to get you off the hook of the work of acknowledging, releasing, and letting go of the old stories that are cluttering your consciousness and getting in the way of manifesting your dreams. Our past experiences, stories, yesterdays can have a significant impact on our beliefs, and many times we don't even realize it's happening. Sometimes we have to dive deep to even realize they are there just so we can acknowledge them, even before we face them, forgive them, neutralize them, release them, and replace them.

I've talked about radical self-forgiveness that has nothing to do with the other party. And even if it does have something to do with another person - as Oscar Wilde said:

Always forgive your enemies—nothing annoys them so much.

I've given you the tool called PLACE (see "What's Your Response?"):  Pause, Label, Ask, Choose, Express. So you respond vs. react to situations because reactions come from yesterday's stories.

There's the 4-step shame and regret process I shared (see "What Are You Looking At?")to get squeaky clean with our ethics and integrity and neutralize the power yesterday's story has a hold on us.

Or you could follow Tony Robbins' (and others) advice to:

1. Turn "letting go" of the past into a “must”

Gaining a clear sense of purpose to move beyond the hold of yesterday and serve as your emotional drive when you feel like raging, hiding, etc.

2. Identify your emotional habits

Emotions are like a muscle. The trauma or challenging incident can train us to feel frustrated, sad, stressed, untrusting. However, you can train yourself to stay passionate, joyful, and strong, even when something bad happens in your life or reminds you of your yesterdays. When you catch yourself falling into a negative emotional habit, try to cut off the thought and switch gears immediately. This new conditioning will re-wire those emotions to have less or no effect as a trigger.

3. Condition your mind and work on personal growth

Feed your mind and soul with empowering stories instead of limiting ones.  Surround yourself with people who make you better and put yourself in a peak state of mind and action. Focus on learning and improving your mind and heart, and thus your self-respect and perception.

4. Create empowering rituals

Build momentum by practicing gratitude, meditation, affirmative prayer, journaling, etc. All the spiritual practices we talk about and work.

5. Focus on what you can control

You can’t take back an unhealthy relationship, but you can learn from it. You can’t go back in time and fix a bad childhood, but you can realize that “Your past does not equal your future.” From the minute you wake up, you make choices. In fact, that could be your greatest birthrights - volition and choice. Learning how to let go of the past means breaking the pattern and focusing on creating the life you deserve, not dwelling on the one you used to have.

7. Give back

No matter how broke you may be or how broken you feel, you have something to offer others – even if it’s something as common as a smile or a listening ear. Realize that the secret to living is giving.

Not a Tony Robbins or NLP fan? Alice Morse Earle put it very plainly in the early 1900s:

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.

Here is the most important thing happening in the present that I want you to grasp onto, awaken to and allow Its transformative abilities to take hold:

If God is all there is, then EVERYTHING in our life is God speaking.

Doubt, pain, resistance, and misery are a calling for reconnecting our humanness with our spiritual essence.  It holds no judgment or opinion of the experience! When you begin to see yesterdays that pop up in our 'todays' as a blessing, you tap into an opportunity to remember the fundamental truth that God is all-in in your life and ready to wave the flag and hold your hand, if need be, and point us to the Truth to:

REALIZE  ACCEPT  KNOW

  • Realize your feelings are valid
  • Accept that God has given you all that is needed to step through yesterday's junk
  • Know you have the power of choosing and then choosing again and again and again

I would like to conclude with a poem I heard about and found on this subject.

She Let Go

by Safire Rose

She let go.

She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear.

She let go of the judgments.

She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.

She let go of the committee of indecision within her.

She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.

Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice.

She didn’t read a book on how to let go.

She didn’t search the scriptures.

She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.

She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.

She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go.

She didn’t journal about it.

She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.

She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.

She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.

She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.

She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.

She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.

She didn’t call the prayer line.

She didn’t utter one word.

She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.

There was no applause or congratulations.

No one thanked her or praised her.

No one noticed a thing.

Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort.

There was no struggle.

It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.

It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.

A light breeze blew through her.

And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…

You will probably face setbacks and challenges, I have. But with conviction and a purpose that drives you, you will stay focused and dedicated when those yesterdays show up. Then you can acknowledge, release, and let go. Don’t beat yourself up for what has happened in the past - all god's children's got stuff. Beyond your own self-work, please seek out spiritual counseling - I do, cognitive therapy - I have, and know that you can and will let go of your yesterdays and manifest your million dreams.

I know you can!

p.s. I am available for spiritual counseling. Contact my office at ntsc@newthoughtsc.org
Peace and blessings to you!

Losing My To-Do List

Are you a list person?

Do you get a thrill when you look at a long page full of activities and tasks that you plan to accomplish?

Are they categorized, color-coded with little boxes drawn beside each one so you can check them off? Or maybe you highlight them or cross them out as you complete them.

At the end of a productive day, do you smile at your accomplished long list, seeing it as a trophy or a badge of honor, knowing you had done well?

How long do you spend making that list you may or may not complete? And if you don't get through it, is there a roll-over and a bit of depression – not a fun day, huh?

I am here to advise you to throw away your to-do lists. I know, I know....it's a time management thing. And I get it, you want to make sure things get done you might forget about. I also understand the intention to have productivity, making sure tasks don't get lost in the shuffle. However, lists and deadlines can also be potent procrastination tools and act as an addiction.

The satisfaction of ticking off a small task is linked with a flood of dopamine. Each time your brain gets a whiff of this rewarding neurotransmitter, it will want you to repeat the associated behavior.  ~Ralph Ryback, Psychology Today

It's like sugar, an almost never-ending merry-go-round of ups and downs in mood, a cycle of reward and emptiness.

Too many times we crave another feel-good moment, our brains often encourage us to complete a low-level task instead of something that really matters, just to get more dopamine and a false sense of joy and satisfaction. Too often we are avoiding the projects that are often the true game-changers.

I have post-it notes on my computer and hard copy ones on my desk, and I get quite a thrill in their completion, especially the crumbling it up to toss it in the trash can or deleting it from my computer screen.

It’s not that keeping a list of things that you need to get done is a bad idea. It’s the fact that people run their days on their to-do lists. That’s what’s very harmful.  ~Nir Eyal, behavior design/productivity expert

Experiencing flow in your day-to-day work, no matter what that particular day is like, is an integral component of creativity and mental/physical health. And surrendering to the moment will usually boost innovation, meaning, engagement, and productivity.

As we declutter this month, I want to encourage something more important than doing...and that is being...getting into the flow of our highest state of mind, beginning our day, not with lists, but with listening. In the blog The Blissful Mind, Catherine Beard ends her article on HOW TO ORGANIZE & DECLUTTER YOUR TO-DO LIST with this recap:

When it comes to your never-ending to-do list, stick with the three principles:

Get it out of your head

Let go of “should-s”

Prioritize mindfully

Ph.D. Christi Hegstad, a member of the Forbes Coaches Council,  agrees in her article, “The Productive Power of Your Daily Top 3”prioritize

Getting out of your head is probably the best priority to get things done, manifest your best experiences, and get in the flow of successful living. When we prioritize focusing on the now, distractions are minimized and flow is optimized. In the Mahabharata, there is a story about Master Dronacharya teaching archery to his many students.

Dronacharya hung a wooded crow, from a tree branch and then summoned his students. Telling the students they were to hit the arrow in the crow's eye, he lined them up and told them they must answer a question before firing.

First, Duryodhana took up his stance. “What can you see?” asked Dronacharya. The student says "I see the bird, the garden, the tree, the flowers, everything!" The teacher told him to put his bow down and step aside.

The next student, Yudhishtra, stepped up, but his answers were similar, "I see the air and leaves blowing in the wind."  Dronacharya told the student that he too must put his bow down and go back to his place.

On and on the master teacher asked the same question to the other students, most giving the same or similar answer. Some added that they could see the teacher, their cousins, and people standing around. None were allowed to continue, they were all sent back to their place without being allowed to shoot. Even Dronacharya’s son, could not understand what his father wanted. Finally, Arjuna was the only one left.

Dronacharya asked Arjuna to come up and take his stance. When Arjuna picked up his bow, set the arrow, and drew the string, his teacher asked, “What do you see?”

Arjuna replied, “The eye of the bird.”

“Can you see the tree?” asked Dronacharya.

“No, only the eye of the bird,” was the answer. Dronacharya then went through a list: tree, bark, leaves, flowers, fruits, his brothers, cousins, even the teacher himself.

To everything Arjuna’s answer was the same: “No, I can only see the eye of the bird.” With a smile, Guru Dronacharya gave him the order,  "Release your bow."  Arjuna released the arrow and it sped straight to the target and the bird came tumbling down. Dronacharya embraced the boy and then told the others, “When you want to achieve something, you must focus on it. Closeout all other distractions and concentrate only on your target.”

What is your target?

Is it the things on the list or the list itself?

Or is it what the list represents?

In order to declutter a life of doing, we must focus on being who we are, what is our purpose, and what is our intention. Consider DCCAR.

  • Decide what your priorities are. The priorities of your heart and soul, not your mind's goals or lists
  • Calm your mind down. Teach it to follow instead of lead and put the Divine Matrix in play.
  • Connect with, listen to, and trust your Higher Self .
  • Act on the Guidance from your Higher Self.
  • Relax and allow what you desire to come to you, to reveal itself to you.

When we begin our day focused on intention and purpose rather than tasks and lists, we get ourselves in the flow of being rather than doing.

To be is to do.  ~Socrates

Being is what we want our focus to lie so that the doing –the bird in the tree- is easily accomplished because it is what is in our sights. In the 47th chapter of the Tao te Ching, it teaches:

Without going out the door, know the world

Without peering out the window, see the Way of Heaven

The farther one goes, the less one knows.

Therefore the sage

Knows without traveling,

Sees without looking,

And achieves without acting, doing, or striving.

You don't have to go to the holy land to become enlightened or use a to-do list to become successful

You don't have to look outside of yourself for accomplishments and wisdom - it is all within

Before you go anywhere or look at anything, complete the connection to your True Self in your heart, gut, and brain, without acting...just being. With that as your focus, all else will fall into place.

Affirmative Incantation

Since I am free to choose and create every experience of my life, I now awaken the power to stand on my own, no matter what. I bravely step into any wilderness knowing I am supported by the Universe, directed by Divine Wisdom and enveloped in the hands of grace. My heart is profoundly marked by the wild and I love that I am bold, brave, and ready to succeed. I think only of all the great things that will happen on this road.

As I lay out my blueprint, I vibrate energetically that things are going perfectly where they need to go for me to be abundantly prosperous. I have changed my standard to excellence. Excellence is my watchword in the kindness and respect around me, and the creativity and health in me. The power of my word is clear which makes only good manifest. It is done, right here....right now!
